Wow, I'm kind of surprised that no one has responded. I thought for sure someone here has transported their scooter this way.

Super 8 150 / How do I secure a Super 8 150 to a trailer?
« on: July 17, 2019, 03:07:00 PM »
Hey, all:
I've got a 2013 Super 8 150 that is due for its 1850 mile check-up and the nearest shop is about a 40 minute ride. I haven't been able to ride as often as I'd like lately due to being in the process of moving into a new home, and I think that combined with the heat has my Super 8 not wanting to start. I don't have the time to tinker with it right now, so since it was going to the shop anyway, I wanted to rent a Uhaul motorcycle trailer to transport it. However, I can't seem to find any info on where to run the tie down straps. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Ram it! RAM mounts have a ball mount that will work under the mirror locknut.
My RAM mount system arrived and I think it will serve my purposes well. Not crazy about how/where the actual phone cradle holds the phone. I feel like the arms should've been a little longer, but the rubber web grip that came with it does keep it pretty secure. The section that connects the ball mount to the phone cradle blends right in, so I like that. Haven't had a chance to ride with it on yet, so hopefully we'll get some warmer temps soon. Thanks, again, for the recommendation!

Thanks for the tip! I'll look into those.

1/17 Update: The phone mount for which I posted the link arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, it does not appear that it will work on the Super 8. The plastic block on the end that mounts to the side mirror is too bulky and won't fit where it needs to. I'm exploring some other possibilities as far as places to mount it, but nothing is satisfactory yet.

I did contact Tapatalk, but their response was not very helpful. They essentially told me that it's an issue on the forum owner's end, but they offered no useful information other than to contact that person, and I am not sure who that person is.

Wondering if something like this might work. Looks like it mounts where the side mirror attaches to the bike.

Update: I went ahead and ordered this one. It's cheap enough and I have an old phone I can test it with. Will post an update once I get to use it a bit.

Ever since joining this forum, I've been unable to start a new thread from the Tapatalk app on Android. I am able to reply to threads from the app, just can't start a new one. Any way to fix this? Thanks!

Technical | How To / GPS/Phone mount on 2013 Super 8 150???

Is it possible to install a GPS/phone mount on a 2013 Super 8 150? I was hoping to be able to use something that can be easily removed when I don't need it, like the phone mount I use on my bicycle handlebars, but I don't see anywhere that it could go. If it needs to be more permanent, that's fine, as long as I'll be able to remove it cleanly if/when I decide to sell or trade it in one day. Any thoughts/suggestions welcomed. Also, if it is possible, what brand/model do you recommend? Thanks!

Welcome you two!

Nice scooters. Take your time getting comfortable on two wheels.
Highly recommend taking the MSF course!

Again Welcome.
Stig

PS: cut your neighbor some slack....have seen much worse!

We did take the MSF course in November. The MC endorsement was required in order to legally drive our 149cc/163cc scooters on the roads here. We initially wanted motorcycles, but the course was humbling. It made us realize that we needed to spend time just getting comfortable on the road. I've never been a gear head, and am not overly interested in having to shift gears on a bike. I just enjoy the experience of moving on two wheels. I may upgrade to a Honda ctx700n with the DCT auto trans at some point, but for now we're just enjoying the ride.

Also, was totally kidding about my neighbor! We saw him walking as we were riding by and I literally parked, tossed my phone at him, and said, "Hey, capture this"...lol

Weather has been up and down lately, but we take advantage when we can. Now, if I can just teach my neighbor about photo composition...lol

After a week of owning our first scooters, and some delays due to an overwhelmed DMV, my wife and I were finally able to take our bikes out for their maiden voyages. Well, I purchased used, so my 2013 Super 8 150 has probably been around the block a few times. But, my wife's 2018 Like 200i is fresh off the line. This was our first time riding motorbikes on actual streets, with actual moving cars. We mainly stayed in our surrounding neighborhood just to build our comfort level, but man did we have a blast. Of course, as we get more comfortable, we will venture further and further out. There is one stretch of road that allowed us to get up to about 45-50 mph, and both scooters did this effortlessly. I could see this getting addicting.
