General Discussion / Re: reasons a carb may be leaking gas?
« on: August 15, 2021, 03:12:25 PM »
Was watching my old school small engine repair guy with a small flexible tube in his mouth. Asked what are you doing, he has a test hose connected to the gas inlet and holding the carb up to eye level. Stated he was setting float height. He said he was putting a small amount of air to see when his new needle and seat was installed to test float height. His original problem was a leaking carb. Better way than I had been doing it!

General Discussion / Any new kymco have disk brakes front and rear?
« on: August 15, 2021, 03:06:31 PM »
Looking to upgrade my 2013 movie. absolutely love it. Just wanted to see if anything equals it in the 150cc range. Led tail lights and dual piston calipers front and rear. Drove many hours to go see the new 2022 Honda ADV150 and despite all the pictures and the Honda website it did not have rear disc.  Really nice to have 2 perfectly equal hydraulic master cylinders  braking both wheels. Does the bet and win have dual disk? Thanks!!

Pictured on side of trans it says .12L   about 4oz us do not overfill, it does not go up to the fill hole.. Ask me how I know this. Engine Oil change .9L dry/ .8L oil change. Idle few min the recheck dip stick.
Plug Says NGK CR8E  Plug Gap .6 to .7mm   Engine oil 15w-40  Idle speed 1800rpm +/-  100rpm  Valve .12 mm +/- .02mm     87octane  Idle mixture non adjustable has blocking cap.
Front tire pressure: 25.4  rear tire 28.8 psi  Oil warning light will come on and stay on at oddball mileage 1050miles around 2570 and 3050 to remind you to change oil. Will edit to write how to clear these. Have pictures but newer cell phones wont let me take any smaller pix, not sure how to get them to upload. To reset trip hold both buttons at same time.
Belt 781-20-30 posted by another user works great Bando Kevlar amazon.  Here is a clip from OP on how to reset oil light, on the movie you must reset trip "B"  See below for procedure.

Dear friends,

It worked. The oil level was not the issue. The oil service reminder had to be reset.

Basically, holding the right button down for 5 seconds shifts from the odometer, then to the trip meter and then to the oil service meter. Once you are in the oil service meter, holding the left button for 5 seconds it does the job. And the same applies for the trip meter!!!

Thanks again!!!

Movie 150 / Re: 2013 Intermittent Stumble and No Start
« on: August 14, 2021, 07:56:55 PM »
Ended up being the factory spark plug cap. Replaced with a NGK generic plug Ran it few hundred miles. Pull and starts really well. Still tests fine on ohm meter. I have seen the solder melt in these caps. replaced with NGK cap. Runs perfect.  Want to use the factory rubber boot, seeing several on amazon, but they say dimensions are 10x5x6   for a cap???  no way  Factory Bakelite straight part is 2.25 inch long onto plug.

may try iridium bought a few plugs when gander mountain in york closed all kinds of outdoor sports plugs thanks. Will look into it.   Went to look at the Honda ADV150 was told has dual disks and abs. It has drum rear, guess i keep movie need dual disk, mash both hydraulic handbrakes equally and it works.

Completely cleaned the carb, every jet and spray nozzle blew carb cleaner to confirm passage. No difference still stumbled off idle. Replaced with Fresh NGK plug same thing! Removed 45 degree Bakelite plug connector with a NGK temp boot. Took right off 100% that one doesn't have the 55mm reach that factory one does and it tests 450 k ohms from where wire enters to where it clips onto plug, they have a Sheetmetal type screw in there trimmed 1/4 inch off wire recrewed new plug connection. will report back if it remains fixed. its 94 in Pennsylvania right now.
Factory plug mentioned under seat says NGK CR8E  gap .6mm to .7mm

Movie 150 / Re: Electric fault? Only running on idle
« on: August 11, 2021, 01:33:12 AM »
Did you get this resolved,  doing a full carb clean in am have stumble off idle at times. Also have seen the coil wire boot desolder itself. Then it sits and cools and behaves a bit. Going to change that out to a NGK 90 degree.  Testing it always tests good, as solder only melts when hot and bad connections.  Will post results!

Did you every get this problem taken care of
Had very similar problem adjusted valves and ran perfect. My second movie, has this exact problem intermittently. Runs stron, going to reclean pilot idle jets. Just at times right off of idle, when pulling into traffic!!
Thanks

Yes, I have 2 movie 150cc one with LED The newer style bulbs are better for headlights. I have them in my Harley Streetglide and jeep wrangler.  As for the tail light in the Harley incandescent has a better 360 visibility. Rather that one dot of light.  The other movie I can see the orange driving lights not in the one with the LED. I see they went up already in price, once its mentioned few places amazon seems to inflate things.  I tried many, didnt just stumble on these.  Amazon has a great return policy here at our local Kohls.
I would agree most LED are horrible.  Put these in a few Chinese scoots also works well.

I swear the bike runs better. Why? More Volts/amps to CDI to run important stuff. Really and when I get back from a ride only takes few mins for my Schumacher trickle charger to go green!
