People s200 / Re: Gas leaking from air cleaner housing

I use Seafoam and run an once per gallen to keep it clean. to start with I would run twice that much and let it sit over night in the carb. You don't need to run it all the time but once in a while is good.

I would run a carb cleaner through it such as gum out or seafoam. Sounds like the float valve is sticking.

Yes it was I. I would carry a set of tools to change the belt also I have added a 3 jaw puller to my set to get the cords out from under the back pulley. Also in your case AAA. I did use my CAA to get to a safe place to replace the belt. I still think it was a defective belt tho. I carry a spare all the time now.

Primarily till the first oil change. I would ride it like you stole it, just don't run a constant speed for a long time. If you go to easy the brake in will take a long time and the rings may not ever seat properly. On my DT300I I drove the first 100K at about 90KM but varied the throttle. After that I drove it as tho it was a couple of years old. It broke in great and I have had no problems except for a belt which I fine out was just about time to change anyway.

I just did a 7000KM trip with my DT300I this summer and the back side would not have lasted without the AirHawk.  ;D

The muffler is easy to get off and put back on. At the front of the muffler is a clamp with a hex screw in it, loosen it off several turns. Take the heat shield off (4 bolts) unbolt the muffler (3 large bolts). Twist the muffler as you are pulling it back.

I have changed my back tire twice now. I get about 14000KM on the back and twice that on the front. I just turned 29000KM on mine yesterday. I am running Pirelli Diablo tires on it. JUst finished a 7000KM trip before the last tire change. Takes me about a half hour to remove the wheel and about 45 minutes to put it back on with torquing.

Iwould think it will be the same as the DT300, large side to the gear box or against the wheel. Small side to the grease seal on the muffler side.

I agree, but they list for about $221.00 now. This price is unreasonable. >:( :( :-*
It is exactly the same for the DT300. First one lasted 19000km second one only 4000km and rapped up in the pulleys. current one has about 5000km now and looks like new. forth one is under the seat just in case. Second one had to be defective. All were Kymco belts!

Has anyone changed their tires yet? I was thinking about putting Pirelli Diablo's on. Any thoughts?
I am putting my second set on right now. Love them, they were very good on my trip. 800 km a day for 4 days out then running around a bit in Ottawa and 3.5 days to do the 3200 back.  :)

I never let my tank run below half! Why run it down if you don't have to. I did carry an extra tank with me on my recent tour as there are some places you may not make it to the next station. The tank is designed specifically for this purpose. They are expensive and the only time I would use it is when I am in areas where fuel is not available.

I have had mine for 14 months now. I have had to reset the throttle position sensor a couple of times with a problem like the first complaint. Simple to do and both times it seemed to be connected with a hard stop from hi way speed. BTW it is now at about 28,000KM.

Got home last Monday, haven't had much time to get on here yet. I am sure the belt that broke was defective. I have about 5000 km on this one with no problems yet. I did come home with out the saddle bags but do not think they had any barring on the problem. All in all the trip was good, 4.5 days out and 3.5 back. It is going to take a while to get the pictures up tho. I have about 100 hours for recording to go through to get anything worth looking at.
I road for an hour then stopped for a break, rode for another hour and got fuel, another hour and a break. Did the whole trip this way. Had a bit of problem with mussels in my neck but that is just from not doing this kind of riding before.
I am sure I will do this trip again but have to pay of the cost of this one first.
Putting on a new back tire tomorrow but this is just from normal ware. I am running Pirelli Diablo tires and love them. handled great on the entire trip.
I will post more when I have time. :)

Ouch..  Glad to see it didn't take too long to get rolling again.  How many miles were on the belt when it let go?
4 thousand k. Not sure if it is a bad belt or from over loading the system. I have a new belt on and picking up a spare today here in Ottawa. see if I make the 3000 km going home with out trouble. I have all the tools to replace it along the road now so shouldn't be to much of a issue.

Broke down about 124k from Sault Ste. Marie yesterday. Got caa to take me and the scooter the rest of the way. Got in about midnight. Replaced the belt this morning but needed help getting the peaces out of the back pulley. Back on the road by noon today. That would have put me in Ottawa about midnight so I stopped at North Bay and will go on in to Ottawa tomorrow morning.
