Title: mxu 250 overheating!
Post by: bism45 on July 13, 2015, 09:37:24 PM
hi all, i run a quad tour business in spain and this year is hotter than ever!! a few of my bikes (all mxu 250) have started to cut out when hot, then start again when they have cooled down, my question is.....is it a problem with the fuel or something when they are so hot ? or is there actually a cut out switch built in that stops them when they are really hot ? strange thing is the temp gauge on the display doesn't show them overheating ? can anyone help please ?.....cheers in advance :)

Sounds more like vapor lock in the gas tanks. I know nothing of the Kymco 4x4's. When they stall open the gas cap, if it "hisses" you have to vent the tank somehow. If they have plastic gas caps, just drill a very tiny hole in the top of it and the vapor lock will stop.
