« on: July 09, 2009, 09:42:23 PM »
ok after almost 200 bucks and a month later i still cant figure this stupid thing out so i offer it to you guys. Im in Michigan and will give it to you guys in the forum for 200 bucks flat out.

it has ok tires still, the 12" wheels are great shape,a brand new magneto/stator, newer coil, ok shape front disc, switches n buttons are not bad shape, seats crap( some kid stabbed it repeatedly lol)
fan is ok, shroud chipped, exaust has been opened, cleaned re-welded..its
any plastics i do have for it are screwed but a full line of plastics comes to undr 300 bucks online i been checkin.
last time i tried to start it, the motor did start from the kickstart and ran rough for about 2 seconds so i figured it might need oil which i never bought cuz i been so busy. motor might work better for someone who knows what exactly they are doing. sounds clanky lol

i dont know about 2 strokes and heres the ad since i have it locally as well, like i said if you belong to the forum pay no attention to the 250 price...if you want it for 200 its yours just to end my headaches.

General Discussion / good deal? but not a kymco :(
« on: July 01, 2009, 01:38:06 AM »
PAY NO ATTENTION TO MY MESSY ROOM ITS THE WORK ROOM WHEN ITS DIRTY LOL
Well after looking for a few months i couldnt find a good kymco scoot around my area that hasnt been wasted upon by some young riders sooooo i got tired of tinkering with my zx50 superfever and needed a well deserved break. I will still fix my superfever if i can(which starts, runs for 5 seconds then dies until started again, but i will get her running!!!!)

but i saw this and grabbed it up for 763.00 total which is all i had at the time of sale.
the guy wanted $1000 then relisted it at $900 but i talked him down :)

not bad but the color is pretty bright for my style but for 763.00 i will keep it
it does need kickstart gears and a shaft but it has auto start and an alarm.
think its a decent deal besides the color? lol
im charging the battery the guy said it was wasted but its holdin a charge now :)

its a Yamati Strada Rx150cc

ps. if you want the oldschool gt bike its on ebay lol

« on: June 18, 2009, 05:13:36 PM »
Hello again all,  I have some extra parts i just put on craigslist.org and just wanted to offer them to you folks too in case a few people own other scoots besides the Kymco brands.

Shipping in the US is available to you guys , sorry to the mates overseas as it wouldnt be cost worthy to ship from here.
i normally dont ship but if anyone needs anything let me know and just agree to pay the shipping and part costs ahead of time with a postal money order.

here is the list of what i have so far, i am dismantling a few scoots.

NST/ROCKETA/SUNL Plastic panels $75 bucks or best for all
(two pieces have been painted to match but dont look bad)

REAR SCOOTER SHOCK 16" used but good shape
match to your mounts  $15 bucks

LARGE REAR ALUMINUM RACK (Non Kymco) $20 bucks
Bolt holes are 12 1/2 for the large width
and 9 1/2 for the medium holes
match yours to the pic if possible (will not fit a 50cc)

50cc Forks for Front Disk $40
Measures 16"
10" from black cap to silver ends

I do have more odd parts and electrical stuff layin around as i bought a few broken scoots so if your looking for something special let me know. I dont have any Kymco Parts left though sorry those went to repair my zx50.
I may have some 10" cast wheels in the future after i decide what im keeping and parting out.
let me know

Ken

zx50 / SHE RUNS AGAIN!!
« on: June 13, 2009, 07:08:09 PM »
AHA! I finally figured out my week long puzzle as to why my zx50 would not start and am sorta happy at the outcome , i say sorta because you will see what happens as my father always told me (everything i touch turns to sh*t lol)

these are the things i covered.

New coil (oem)
New CDI (oem)
New Plug
I also found a new discovery for the zx50, the electric start relay works off a 1985 Yamaha Razz!
it doesnt actually clip in perfect but it fits in far enough to work and not fall out.

After all those new things i figured i would check the exaust..the exaust was packed totally closed so i cut open the exaust on the backside, scraped and air-tooled all carbon out, welded the muffler back together and replaced it on the machine.

first kick it fired right up!
but i forgot to put the fan and shroud back on so  i placed the fan on, screwed in the bolts and placed the cover back.
engine now would not even budge, not kick over, starter sounded froze...guess what?

i just screwed bolts (which i thought were the fan bolts) right into my stator coils and now i need a new stator because i broke ONE small wire. now i dont get spark again
a 70.00 mistake by using bolts that were too long..

hopefuly this helps someone else before they do the same thing.

im positive after i get my new stator (which i may try tgb if i cant find a local shop carrying kymco)
she will fire up again! wish me luck!
*************************************

OK so i bought a stock gy6 6 pole stator and installed it, GREAT spark now but the engine starts up, runs about 15 seconds and shuts off so the puzzle still aint over!

General Discussion / How to Clean 2 Stroke Exaust Internally
« on: June 12, 2009, 07:58:14 AM »
I found this whilst Browsing and thought I'd share so mayben it might help someone along the way

Pull the pipe out.

Be careful not to damage the gasket between the cylinder head and the exhaust; if you do, you will have to replace it; it won't do to have gases escaping from this union.

Plug one of the openings of the exhaust; you have to create a good seal here, sometimes wine bottle corks work well, but don't use any tape, as the cleaning chemical you will be using will break it down completely. Now, spray a whole can or two of brake cleaner inside, then plug the other opening; sometimes there is a secondary opening on the side of the pipe, or a "slave tube", plug these as well.

Slosh it around and let it sit for a while; then, slosh it around again and let it sit in a different position; do this as many times as you can and if possible allow the chemical to work overnight. While you are waiting, you can take a look at the exhaust port on the cylinder head, if there is build up here too, clean it up VERY CAREFULLY with a little brake cleaner and a rag; turn the engine so that the exhaust port is covered by the piston, that way you'll avoid pushing deposits into the chamber; don't use a screw driver, as you could damage the piston.

here is another way but I prefer what youve already read above..

zx50 / Will Not Start..HELP!
« on: June 11, 2009, 05:45:25 PM »
OK Guys time for you professionals to help me out here. I have tried what i know (which aint much) to try to get my Zx50 started but this thing is being really stubborn. The Guy i bought the bike from shorted out the Started Relay trying to jump start the bike from his car so i used a small wire to bypass the relay to continue turning the starter over because i cant find the right relay (the tiny square 4 prong 30A)to replace it yet.
The bike has been sitting for a year or so but here is what has been replaced.

New C.D.I
New Plug
New Coil
Fuel Tank Drained,Removed,cleaned,re-installed
I am getting suction from the carb now due to I cleaned the jets

Now i still am not getting any spark and every once in a while it will spark VERY VERY slightly, I have checked all connections for corrosion and cleaned them but she still wont fire.

Could this be the stator causing all this trouble?  I would have to purchase a stator for 68.00 from the local shop but there is no refunds on electrical not even to check and see if this is the part i need.
so what im asking is if anyone can help me get her started!!

all she does is kick over like a car with a bad coil. I have tried 3 different coils but none of them get enough spark for some reason.....help please guys im dyin to ride this one instedd of my tiny 10" stamped steel wheel one!!

phone them, give your Dealer Number and ask for an email containing the kymco updated parts list with part numbers for the body panels and other small parts that were not previously stated in the microfitche
