Scooter insurance, need some help.
« on: July 24, 2013, 10:35:15 AM »
I have been looking around for some insurance for my scooter and have been getting quotes all over the board. $77 a year for horrible coverage to $590 a year for excellent coverage. I would love to know where everyone here is getting there insurance from and if possible about how much there paying a year for what coverage. I hope that's not to personal a question. I would like descent coverage and I do want to cover my scooter.

Thanks again everyone and be safe, mscmkr

We have our 2-wheelers with Dairyland and our roadside assistance with Allstate.
We are both over 60 and have clean driving records.

I'll share, I have nothing to hide.  When I picked up my scoot I called my independant agent who I've used for years, they hooked me up with Foremost for 226.00/year, 100K/300K, 500.00 deductible.  I'm in Wisconsin, close to 50 with a clean driving record.  2006 xc250.

My X500 is old, I don't need comprehensive insurance.
39€/year for 3rd party coverage up to 100 million €.
Liability insurance doesn't differ much in Germany, ca. 90% of the premium is deducted from official statistical data.

Many factors go into the underwriting of insurance policies.  Age, driving record, credit, vehicles, etc. go into the promulgating of rates.  I happen to use Progressive for my Super 8 150

I live inMiami Florida and I have Geico good company and the least expensive. I specially love that when my bike brakes down they town me to my dealer 53 miles away for free. I have a 25/50 liability and $100.00 deductible  comp & collision including towing and pay $245.00 a year. If the bike is totaled you get book value less deductible but Allstate and Progressive will replace the bike, the cost is also is at least $100.00 to $150.00 more for me. So I have stayed with Geico.

I was getting a wide range too. $300-800. I then went to Geico and maxxed everything out with every extra you can get with only a $100 deductible and it's $99 a year.

I went with Geico as well, they had more options to customize your plan versus Progressive or State Farm. I'm paying around $350 per year as a new rider for good all around coverage.
