Title: ..riddle me this...
Post by: wordslinger on June 20, 2010, 01:11:37 AM
..ppl will idle fine...

..when i squeeze either brake lever, or press the "passing" headlamp switch, idle increases, and will continue to increase until i release whatever it is i'm squeezing or pressing...

..rpms will not increase unless i am holding either brake lever or the headlamp switch..

..i can rev the hell outta it as long as i'm doing that...

..what the f*ck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got me they usually tend to do the opposite on the break pull, lights should have no effect or a drain at best, some more connections to clean?

...added note, the headlamp or tail-lamp will not burn at idle...

..squeezing a lever, brake lamp burns..

..press the "passing" button..headlamp burns..

..and in both cases, idle increases...

..i think my carb's just fine...

Your still going to want to take a look at it,the electrical stuff is kinda wierd,to effect the idle.Lotta juice being drwn somewhere

HUMMMMMMMMM--- YOU HIT THE BRAKES/FTP AND MORE CURRENT FLOWS

...orrr..with the tail-lamp and headlamp not burning at idle, current is being reduced, due to a faulty component...

..rectifier???

...i'm studying the schematic, but have yet to figure it out...

This wouldn't be caused by a bad earth connection would it?

..figured it out...

..the flasher relay had rubbed into a pink wire that goes to the bottom of a component that i'm not familiar with...

..looks like an H with the left leg taller....has a green wire on the bottom of the left leg..

...headlamp and tail-lamps still don't work, but the weird idle problem is gone...

..tail-lamp burns bright when i squeeze the brake levers...

I think that component may be the resistors.  Are there two one bigger than the other each with one wire coming out of a silver rectangular box?  Really just a guess, but I think my resistors had one with a green wire and the other pink.  Are they located under the front fairing by the voltage regulator?
