Side By Side / Gun boot mounts & box storage to the bed.
« on: October 15, 2019, 03:42:20 PM »
Hi guys - I'll have the answer in a few days but wanted to check back in and see if anyone has done this in the interim since the last thread.

Gun boot mounts & box storage to the bed.

I hunt & trap all over and it ranges from dry and dust everywhere to one mega huge bog. Most of the overhead and floor based gun racks will not suffice. I've tried the large bag over the back but it winds up lasting about 2 storms worth. I'm presently using a floating shotgun case and laying it on the seat with the muzzle into the storage compartment under the shifter. You should see the bolts on some of my guns from a few trips without it - crazy.

Just checking in if anyone's used the kolpin gun boot or strong hold system. Pictures and successes/failures appreciated. Looks like I'll be going the kolpin stronghold route and fixing it to the roll bars. Little concerned about where I'm gonna put the axe and how those angled bars will do but give it a shot. Looking at the added box for the bed mount but need to verify on the machine first and she's about 300 miles away at present. Not sure how that double wall tilting bed would do with bolts thru the sides. If anyone's attached something to it, would appreciate insight.

For as much storage as the machine has - still looking for more! Here's a bed pic from Saturday night. 1,429 miles on her.

My hunting spots are all over the map so my uxv sees a lot of trailer time. Does anyone else have the problem where their bench seat will pop off and wind up on the floor?
I make sure its locked down to its fullest extent but wondering if I might be missing a clip or two on my specific machine.
Currently I just bungee it down for the trip. No biggie, inquiring minds and all that.

The steering wheel is loose and wobbles up, down and side to side. I checked the height placement and it's definitely not that. Took the cover off the sides and top, most screws are for the cover itself. There's one bolt on top of the shaft running down the center of the column underneath the Kymco symbol on the wheel. The shaft is wobbling inside that housing. Before I go tightening that one up, anywhere else to check?
2017 Kymco 450i LE, 1,085 miles. Last service August 2018.

Man, I really like this machine!

We were clearing up the river rd, which sits along 4 miles of the Neuse River. Florence had some fun with that road and the tractor couldn't make it until the road was shored up. We got to one spot about 30m from the trucks. Chainsaw died. Ha - you can bet your bottom dollar them other fellas are out rigging axe holders up on their machines! Anywho - one particular tree was troublesome. The only way we could get to pull her out was by driving around it and hooking her up to yank the opposite way. Guess how many machines could make the end-around without cutting down half the forest? The Kymco.....With the little horseys to get the job done to boot.

Besides that - she's been hauling deer and helping me set up mock scrapes like the Valkyrie she is.

I'm not sure of the make, I'll take a look. I had the dealer get it and install when I purchased the machine.

Everything I can think of wouldn't present itself as you describe. One of the guys around here has a number for the engineers I believe, try calling in the front door first at 864.327.4744. If you got the receipt from the defunct dealer, should help as well.
Sounds like maybe the pressure sensor is kicking out on ya somehow but don't really fit the symptoms.
