What are you wanting to run off of the AC outlet?

You would need an inverter, as well as wire a new circuit for it. If you already have a 12v outlet, it's probably not going to allow the amperage required.

If at all possible, you should try to run on a 12v dc adapter, to avoid the inefficiency of the DC-AC conversion.

I believe you're better off getting the smallest one you can for efficiency. And keep in mind that the batteries are quite small and easy to drain.

Paul, I have a small fm receiver on my DT300 and it has powered speakers and it came with I 12 VDC plug, however I didn't use the receptacle in the small glove box. I wired it directly to the battery and placed an on/off toggle on the radio. It is fused. Never had a problem. You just have to remember to switch off the power to the radio when you turn off your engine. I have a brightly lit switch to help remember,  Plays great and you can get quality sound at 65 mph. Mich about that and the wind noise takes over.. I got mine on e-bay, receiver, two powered speakers, all wiring you need and a wiring diagram. Oh and there was aa noise filer included, which I've never needed. I don't see why you couldn't wire it to the ignition switch to the power On terminal. That way when you shut down the engine, power to the receiver would be off.

What receiver & speakers ya using two wheels?
Always thought that'd be nifty to have since the phone runs out of signal places where ya can still get other reception sometimes.

Tromper, I can't remember the name, if it has one. Just a cheap Chinesse FM only receiver, that someone had on Ebay. I had one on my SW and sold it with the bike and then ordered another one for my DT.. The receiver is about 3 & 1/2" square and the chrome speakes are about 2 & 1/2" X 3 ". They mount on the mirrow stalks. I cut a hole in the tupperware down under the handle bars and mounted the receiver there.. I may have one of the boxes that it came in someplace in the shop, but can't get out there now with this broken hip.
