« on: February 27, 2014, 08:07:21 AM »
at the age of 80 and riding since I was 30 I"ve had lots of cycles and scooters
current ride is a 2007 kymco people 125, red with dp sliders, top box and large
wind shield.miles are 3100. this is town scot.
road scot is a 2013 piaggio bv 350. black with 6000 miles. two screens, one is stock
with lamiar lip and other is tall faco. also has dp sliders, air hawk seat,42 liter top box,
highway pegs, cruise control and grip puppies. had at least 30 scooters, 50cc to
650cc. to old for motorcycles leg doesn't go over anymore. still loaf at a used bike
shop.i'm the unofficial sales person as the owner is very hard of hearing and I'm a
better b-ser.

« on: July 13, 2012, 10:06:43 PM »
good to hear about your 300. i had one for 3 months. put on a givi (no problems with cracks )
didnt like the up-right position. had problems with running , wouldn't go over 75 mph and gas mileage was low 60-65. twice at dealer to replace cdi-computer. of course no codes so no replacement. didnt want to keep , so i sold it , hope new owner can repair. so i'm back to my vespa 300 super which is ok with me. just for your info, i also have a people 125s which is a great scot. see, ike

« on: June 06, 2012, 08:21:50 PM »
i replaced my stock rollers ( 15.3 grams ) for 15 gram sliders .
sliders are great for take-off about the same for top speed .
easy to change about 20 mins. i'm happy with the change .

hi. like oldscoot i also own a 300 vespa and a 300 people. i can afford both but no room in shop/shed, so one has togo.
for a month or so kymco was on the market. then people hit 2000 miles and things changed.
now vespa is for sale and 300 gti aka (sparkie) is my keeper. its the gold one.
first update was givi windshield, too high, so cut down 3 ins. now its almost perfect.
this shield when installed sits upright, pushs too much air and reduces top speed. will try to bend down soon.
next was dr pulley sliders, 15 gram, stock rollers are 15.3 gram. hears what happened.
acceleration is awesome, a lot better than rollers, top speed only run to 75 mph. i am 77 after all.
i weigh 230 and alt. is 4300 ft. gas mileage after dr pulleys seens to be 60-65.
changing to sliders is easy. cover comes off, 2 of them. having impact wrench helps a lot.
thats all for now my 2 fingers are tired. see yea, ike.

People GT 300i / Re: variator nut hold wrench ?
« on: April 24, 2012, 03:09:36 AM »
boo, i have used a impact wrench for years on lots of variator and clutch nuts.
use same power setting you use to remove nuts when putting nuts back on. that sounds silly but it works.

People GT 300i / Re: Worth the 2K more than Yager?
« on: April 24, 2012, 03:04:25 AM »
i have a yeager and a people 300.
yeager top speed with me (230 lbs.) is 65 at 8000 rpm.
i have trouble finding a good seating position on yeager. always have to use upper foot boards.
never rode 2 up so no comment.

people top speed with dr pulley 15 gram sliders is 80 but the acceleration is outstanding.
"      seating position fits me fine. excellent on highway, 65 or 70 mph.
also no 2 up.
my 2 cents

hi, richard. i think oldscoot is 65, just a kid as i'm 77 and have no problems on trips 100-300 miles a day. wx in southern new mexico is getting warmer - at last - but its windy time. people is very stable in the winds. i'm loving it.

i got the same one, the medium size. since i have the givi screen, which is tall, i'm thinking of putting 1/2 in. of foam under the air hawk. this will give me better leg height to floor.

hi, oldscoot. i also have a vespa 300 and i agree with you. i like my gold 300gt much better.

hows your gas mileage ? i'm 230 lbs and with 1400 miles so far mpg is around 60-65. vespa gets a lot more, but i still prefer the GT300 aka sparkey a lot more.

i rode last two days 160 and 125 miles. lots of winds but temps of 70-75 both days. i have a air hawk and like it a lot.

hows the leo vince pipe working out ? much louder ? what was price ?

Xciting 500 / Re: Nut size.
« on: March 03, 2012, 11:29:08 PM »
hi, i've used a impact wrench many times on clutch and varitors. take off nuts with lowest setting ie 1. if they dont come then use next highest setting . install nuts with same setting you used to take nuts off. no problem i've done it hundreds of times in my 25 years of bike wrenching. see yea,ike

hi,got my gold 300 feb 17th. only 950 miles so far. loving it better than my 2011 vespa 300gts. only mods so far,
givi windshield and a cruise control ( red O ring ). sure could use more storage room , in time maybe a larger top box.
