Title: Gt300i TPS adjustment
Post by: jefd on September 25, 2017, 11:00:54 PM
Hi, anyone know how to properly adjust tps ? The bike ran good except for the slight flat spot I complained about, I loosened the tps set screw, moved it ,flat spot is  gone ,but light is on now, I did the reset, but still on!

I believe mine was .6v.  Take a volt meter and test it with the tps connected, there are 3 wires, one power, ground and signal.  You are looking for signal wire, the voltage will change as you rotate tps.  You can not clear error codes without kymco computer, I have tried.

You got it out of the voltage range and the ECU caught you! Sneak it back until the light goes out. Turns out the bike will run darn near where ever it is put BUT the ECU gets really cranky with that warning! The set point in the service manual is incorrect so you need the service tool to really set it right so it shows 0% when trottle is closed and 100% when opened to the stop. However, you CAN set it like I said above and be pretty darn close. This still under warranty?

Mine was set at about .4 volts from the factory. That equates to 0% throttle closed and 100% throttle WFO (Wide Open)  on the Kymco Analyzer Tool. So the tech manual is wrong. We can work around that. Diddle around until the light stays off and the flat spot is gone and you should be good.

Dealer or parts house. 'Bout $200.00 in 2013. I'll getcha the part number tomorrow. Do you have a service manual? That gives pretty good instruction on how to use the tool.

Just what I said, I cleared light, but flat spot at WOT is back ! Got to play with the TPS and see where the sweet spot is, If there is one! Also what kind of # should I be seeing per tank full  of fuel ?

Your bike is less than 2000 miles since new, right? Milage will continue to improve as it mates in. Should stabilize after 6 to 7000 miles. Expect 65 -68 mpg on 10% ethanol, 68-70 non-ethanol 87 octane (R+M/2) at first. Should improve to 68-70 ethanol, 72-75 non-ethanol after mating in when ridden conservatively on acceleration and around 60 mph cruising. That means riding like an old guy with nothing to prove!

Would it make sense I am seeing 65 miles per tank? 2.1gallons  fills me up till all the bars are gone!

65 miles perTANK is way, WAY off! Even 2.1 gallons for 65 miles is only a little over 30 mpg. Half of what is capable. Big problem!

Been thinking on this all day. Please check your oxygen sensor and make sure it is plugged in. Then do a resistance check.

I would think yes but the CELP light flashing code. There may be more than one problem.
