helmet commercial, maybe in the past while watching powersports programs/races, don't remember helmets in particular, but I do recall gear of sorts

lately, no commercials, I stream from the internet, although they are starting to sneak em in, or pay more

In 2023 -  51% of cars stolen in Columbus Ohio Kias and Hyundais.

One recent week/end it was 23 out of 26.

Stig

makes no sense to me at all, what is so desirable in Ohio about Korean cars ?,  what is happening to the stolen cars? are they being recovered with minimal damage? Chopped for parts?  Crushed for scrap metal? Hustled off the Russia for sale there?

General Discussion / Re: NSR: do you watch, or avoid your big games?
« on: February 11, 2024, 10:00:16 PM »
I watch an occasional hockey game, that's about it. but even hockey, I prefer to go to one of the local arenas and catch a youth hockey game, men's league, or even women's league, My son was a goalie in youth hockey, One year between the league games (his team was in 2 leagues) tournaments and non league games, My son was between the pipes 124 games one year, I went to every one of them. My daughter was in a woman's league a few years, I caught several of her home games. Now, some of my friends have children and grandchildren playing. If it's not 5am in Biddeford, ME, I might consider going

Stoopid Bowl Sunday, I should really revive my annual Kanc Ride

same spot, the sign is buried somewhere in that snowbank

General Discussion / Re: NSR: 'Red-Green' oil change on the HONDA TB-160
« on: February 09, 2024, 07:34:53 PM »
I had an little old Sear's lawn mower that my brother gave me when he became manager of a Porsche/Audi dealership and could afford a larger, Honda mower.
I had it for 20+ years - constantly replacing the wheels when they broke out of the deck - until finally it was a 3 wheel mower. (easier to use than you might imagine!)
Anyway - every couple of years I'd look at that 'rounded-off' thing I reckoned was the oil drain plug under the deck.
This constituted an "oil change" in my mind.
That thing NEVER had an oil change and never failed to run for at least a quarter of a century!

With its 3 wheels, I set it out by the curb - "engine works great!" and the trash pickers took it.

we have a couple local families that are always looking for dead power equipment, they are teaching their kids how to fix stuff, once they get it running, they sell it, usually FB Marketplace

I trim the little bit of grass I have with an electric weed whacker. Had a cheap B&D corded, always left outside, for 30+ years, the bearings finally fell out, now using a Ryobi 18v cordless, to keep the whiskers down on my pine needle & moss lawn

I'm lazy, I don't have a lawn, hence no lawn mower. But I do have a Cricket Toe Hoe that has a Honda GX160 engine, I tow it to the Honda dealer once a year, new plug, clean air filter, change oil

Walmart parking lots ? never heard that one

THe warm spell softened the snowbanks a bit, I took advantage and did some driveway clean up. Now maybe the trash truck can get to my dumpster. Put some salt down

Maybe a return of the annual StoopidBowl Sunday Kanc Ride is in order

Speaking as someone who owned a 125cc Honda and is roughly in your ball park weight-wise Stig, I'd guess you too would struggle to get the little Cub up hills!  Shame as they do look great.

the 190cc I put in my K-Pipe solved that problem.  A zillion years ago, I had a CB125S, model year '73 iirc, 45-50mph top speed, maybe 60 down a steep enough hill. I've never been a lightweight, over 200 before I was out of high school, and now, I weigh more than my K-Pipe and I will leave it at that

Nice throaty note Randy

not all that loud either, compared to tire noise, crickets & locusts, and my neighbor yelling at her son

A couple mods I am going to do on my AK550 over the winter, is add remote battery posts that can be accessed for jump start without disassembling the front. also manual trunk release
