Hi all, i was given a 2011 agility 125 a few weeks ago and was running great. Starts everytime etc
About a week ago, it couldnt start and showed no spark
I have tested with a multimeter voltage of the battery, battery while cranking (under load), tested the ignition coil(tested and replaced), tested the starter solenoid (also tested and replaced) and replaced the cdi
Absolutely no spark
Here is a video of how it sounds
https://youtube.com/shorts/5QuyNJWVVvg?feature=share
I am not sure if these problems are related because the scooter still ran with these issues.
But when i received the scooter,
The kill switch was missing and the two wires for it were jumped together
The headlight didnt work and only worked in flash/passing mode only
The right turn signal did not work and all bulbs are good
After the scooter started with no spark issue, i have noticed that the gas gauge no longer respond
Any help is appreciated. I have tried to have a local scooter shop diagnose it and they couldnt figure it out and refused to try because they cannot get kymco parts

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Your video shows your scoot on its side in a truck, yes?
Some Kymcos have tip-over lock-outs.
Also, video seems to sound like your engine is not turning over....starter not cranking/engaging the engine. Just spinning - do you agree?
And, your scooter shop couldn't figure it out, or didn't try. WHICH?

@Lakersam88, welcome here too.
Stigs hint to this tipover switch sounds good.
- locate this one and bridge it. Let's see.
- try to follow cables from killswitch towards loom.
- drill them nicely together (killswitch cables), maybe it's too loose?
Maybe there is some broken one.
- start with less expensive items first
- sparkplug, sparkplug cap?
- all fuses and holders OK?
- ignition cable from coil towards sparkplug
Pls give us a feedback to learn.

you've tested the battery..but what were your readings? I had a bad (weak) battery once and when I tried to start it it sounded just like yours..as if it was spinning only the starter or starter clutch and not the motor.

Iahawks tipp is worth to follow too. Give it a jumpstart from a car battery.
Don't see this two probs related.
Pls try :
- old Cdi
- new sparkplug and cap
- old ignition coil and cable (check tight fit and measure this cable before for resistance and interuption)
Your starter does not engage on it's clutch.
- give the starter motor during starting some gentle slaps with a hammer, at housing end...maybe engages?
Pics show your starter and clutch, to give you an idea.

Where did you do the Voltage check with the Multimeter ? You must disconnect the plug at the CDI, and do the voltage check at the + wire at the loose CDI plug - while somebody else presses the Starter Button. If you get a Voltage reading of less than 9.6 Volts at the loose connection the spark will be too weak and chances are very good that the scooter will not start.
An “acceptable” Voltage reading at the battery itself does not mean the battery has enough power to generatea proper spark at the spark plug.
If you get a Voltage reading of 9.6Volt or lower at the loose CDI plug you need to get a proffesional load test done on the battery.

Hey, Scooterfan! Long time no posting..hope life in Iowa is treating you well. Good to see you back on the board.

My first observation is that the CDI is not a KYMCO CDI, it's an aftermarket job. Do you have a proper Agility 125 CDI? Also,I see the starter is turning, but isn't engaging. Check these two items and report back!
