General Discussion / Anudder bike!
« on: July 30, 2016, 05:05:32 PM »
Well my Kawi 250 is long gone to a new owner now. I wanted something with more power/cc's. Bought a nice used 07 DRZ400 and I'm in love, only 4k on the clock. Thing is a beast, went from 18hp to 32hp and you know those ponies are there with the twist of the throttle. Just puts a smile on my face, no regrets!

General Discussion / Steals n deals!
« on: October 10, 2015, 03:33:10 PM »
Been putting off over a year the purchase of some riding pants and finally pulled the trigger on a deal for some protection. The reason for the procrastination was the cost of a decent pair. These pants are heavy, I was surprised at the mass. They fit perfect for me, 2X, I got lucky. http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/closeouts/textile_jackets_and_pants/speed_and_strength/urge_overkill_pants.html
For gloves here's a real deal and they're nice for mild to hot weather, $15.00. In areas that matter there is extra protection against road rash.http://www.motorcyclegear.com/street/closeouts/gloves/first_gear/sedona_gloves_2012.html

General Discussion / Riding gloves
« on: August 15, 2015, 12:17:45 AM »
Anyone have any recommendations for gloves that protect yet aren't welding gloves in mass? Local dealers prices start out at $69.00 for a pair. That's almost half the price of my armored jacket. Crazy ass prices. Link if you have any input would be appreciated. Love Ebay links with experience with the product.......currently using an old pair of mechanics gloves and I want sumtin better for protection.

General Discussion / Missin my scoot!
« on: June 30, 2015, 06:51:24 PM »
I'm truly missin my movie 150, that was the perfect 150 scoot for the city. Reality is though in order to afford the KLX250S I had to let her go. I wish I could have kept it and owned both bikes. Scooters and M/Cs are 2 different animals, the only thing they share in common is 2wheels. This 250 gives me the speed rush and the power I craved for a 250cc but I still miss my lil buddy.

After a 50 mile ride my butt was numb and ached, dichotomy I know but it's the fuggin truth. This problem is going to go away 1 way or another. Not sure what right now, I'm not a happy camper.......even with the gel pad and padded cover! Would be totally unacceptable without those.

General Discussion / Tires, 4 ply vs 2 ply?
« on: June 05, 2015, 03:58:15 PM »
I've noticed some scooter tires have a description of being 4 ply and others say nothing. Is it safe to assume the ones that don't are only 2 ply? Does the ply count affect your decision on your tire purchase? Seems a 4 ply would be safer longer lasting then a 2 ply. Here's an example of a tire stating 4 ply. Even the major brand tires don't specify the ply count on most of their tires.   http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kenda-K413-Performance-Scooter-Front-Rear-Tire-100-90-10-4-Ply-/370890046329?hash=item565ac4fb79&vxp=mtr
