Title: Kymco leave Canadian market
Post by: CanuckFJ on August 23, 2019, 05:22:35 PM
Just heard from my local dealer that Kymco have pulled out of the Canadian market.  Apparently they can still get parts out of the US, but local stocks will dwindle over time.  :(

Sounds like you folks need to emigrate to South Africa.
Our country is in a bit in a mess, but at least Kymco agencies kicked off with fresh legs again.

South Africa in a mess? Nellie did not have anything to do with that, did he? There are still people in the US that think Mandella was some kinda saint but I am not one of them.

Kymco is actually back in business there? Wonder for how long....

Is this about Kymco taking away the Canadian distributorship (which happened a number of months back), or has something else happened more recently?

No, Nellie did not have anything to do with it - but yes, our "rainbow dream" fell apart completely. People are leaving the country left, right, and center. I don't want to discuss politics here though.

Let's rather be positive. Yes Kymco kicked off with fresh legs again.

Yes, quite right, on the positive note! Thanks for the link, read it with interest and relish. Will hold my thoughts.

Overjoyed to hear Kymco cranking back up there! Considering overal problems with several brands it seems Kymco the best bet for the least money. What models will they be featuring in SA?

AK 550 Touring.

Due to political incompetence our economy is at the brink of a total collapse. The last major international credit rating institution is also going to downgrade our economy to "junk status".

The value of our currency might soon become worthless, and Kymcos might soon become too expensive for our average citizens. I'm not prepared to bet my front teeth on how long this new "kick off" will last !

Just keep on holding to your thoughts !

Chinese 2-stroke parts are direct replacements for Kymco 2-strokes.  Also Kymco 4-stroke parts can use Chinese parts. There's several models.  Do a little research.

Does ZA have the Kymco Kiwi? I'm having a challenge sourcing Kiwi parts in North America.

To answer your question: yes, probably.  I reported on this back in January.  https://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=27637.0 (https://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=27637.0)  The distributor in Canada will change - waiting to hear if someone else will pick it up or if Kymco USA will be selling into Canada. The Kymco Canada wesbsite is still live.

Kymco USA selling in Canada? When is Kymco USA gonna start answering their phone?
