Hi kymco people!
I am having an issue that hopefully someone has some knowledge of. I have a 2010 kymco people 150, it has ran beautifully up untill this point. I will give little backstory on what happened before it stopped working - I had left the keys in the on position and drained the battery one night, afterwards i hooked up my battery charger straight to the battery still hooked up into the scooter. There was some sparking and initially it had started and i ran it around, everything seemed fine. So then when I got home I again left the keys in the on position and drained the battery again. Now I have bought a new battery and nothing works at all. When i put a multimeter on the new battery it shows that there is a charge so the new battery should be fine. When I put the keys in to start nothing works now (no brake lights, horn, turning signals, dash lights and the starter makes no noise). Nothing seems to be working and I don't know where to look to see what the problem is. Any ideas?

Sparking when you hooked up the battery tender??
Please check your main fuses....which hopefully are near your battery box.....as they are on my LIKE200i.
Are you turning your scooter off with the kill switch. ..or by putting down the side stand....and leaving key in run position??

I agree with Stig - sounds like a fuse issue.

This kymco 150 has only 2 glass fuses that are intact. If there are any more I cannot find them.

And yes it sparked with the battery charger and when i tried jumping it off a boat battery. Nothing works still, no lights in the dash when in on position and no sounds/lights at all from anything. Multimeter on battery shows almost 12v.

Nope, only those two fuses. Maybe a wire has pulled out of a connector, or some corrosion on the terminal cables? I hate troubleshooting electrical problems because there are so many variables. Never had this problem with my P150. You might just have to follow all the wires and cables from the battery outward to see if there is a break or a short somewhere. Good luck, and let us know if you find the problem.

ok so update.
I got the bike started by jumping it off another battery. Now everything seemed to work once it was up and running but after i stopped running it the starter wont start by pushing the electric start button. If I take a screwdriver and put it across the starter coil it will start if hooked up to the jumper battery as well. is this brand new battery not working? on a volt meter its showing just about 11.5v

The manual shows this:
Fuses
When frequent fuse failures occur , it usually indicates a short circuit or an overload in the electrical system.
Ignition system fuse: 7A
Charging system fuse: 15A
I would think the system could handle up to about 14 coming out of the battery. Maybe you should borrow another battery and try it, just to eliminate that option. Hopefully, someone with more experience and expertise can chime in here and give you some good help.

I am guessing this will take a methodical, logical troubleshooting approach. I am betting some terminal lug has gone high resistance or a major ground has done the same. Didn't get the polarity reversed, did ya?

Ok new update.
I can jump the scooter off another battery and it runs great. I drove it around today for about half an hour but as soon as I got home and tried to restart nothing happened again. With a multi meter the battery is around 11v not attached to the bike, when it is hooked up to the bike it is around 4v. When I have the bike running the battery is about 14v. Any ideas why the bike wont start without jumping?

11v means a battery is flat.

your battery hooked up 4 volts means you have a dead short it will drain the battery in no time,. and make any battery hooked up to it low , and make it hard to start,
