MXU / Re: Missing hose on carburetor plug? I need help, please!
« on: December 03, 2017, 04:29:25 AM »
Just found a picture in the service manual showing that a vent hose connects there. The hose runs form the carb up to the back of the gas tank and loops into a hole on the gas tank btracket. Picture attached. No connection at the back of the gas tank as it's just a vent hose.
Manual located at www.Manualslib.com

Check to make sure that connection actually does anything. From what I recall when Iu rebuilt my carb, that was just a "blind" hole.. doesn't go anywhere. Try blowing some air in it to see if it actually goes anywhere.

YES! been there. After a painful reassembly, leaks... the worst. Great idea and thanks for sharing.

General Discussion / 2007 MXU250 and MXU300 vent hose connection
« on: December 03, 2017, 03:28:41 AM »
Just joined forum.. seems very informative and fun. I have a question.. I just cleaned/rebuilt the carburators on my two Kymco MXU's, but after reassembly i found a disconnected what seems to be a vent hose. The top end is route through a hole in the mounting bracket of the gas tank and not connected to anything. My question is where doe the other end get connected? It's a small diameter vent hose with a clamp on one side, th eother side has NO connection.
