Ready for fall!
« on: July 19, 2019, 10:54:23 AM »
Another heat alert for Ohio this W/E.
Wouldn't mind at all a ride in the nippy days of fall.
(how soon one forgets how I longed for winters end!)
Even the most porous mesh gear is too warm when you come to a stop on a scooter. Nevertheless,  keep it fully zipped. By reports, it will be shed if half zipped in a big off. Not good if you and jacket are not in the same shrub when the loud boys come.
But, never going to ride without it.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

don't be wishing for cool weather anytime soon! It will be here before we know (or want) it.

Stig, have you tried any of the hot weather base layers? I have a rukka base layer long sleeve shirt that I wear under my mesh jacket. As air passes over the shirt it provides a really good cooling effect. Not sure how it works..but it does! It's even cold when I walk around the house in it!

It won't help at stoplights but it makes a huge difference once you're moving.

I like the shirt so much (I have a few) that I just ordered the base layer pants and even socks. I think the material is called 'coolmax'.  In the 90's here, too, but looks like the heat will break next week and we're back to more normal low 80's temps.
