My Honda ADV150 has a key fob.  It works fine but I still need a key to open my tail box so I'm still having to carry a key around.  Everything considered I'd rather have a key but it's not a big deal either way.  I may change my mind if I ever have an issue with the FOB.  At least Honda gives you 2 FOBs unlike Yamaha who only gives you one for their Xmax.

That last post was from a short 60 mile ride the day I got in.  The next day I went for a much longer ride of 225 miles.  Here's some of the pics I took.

Thanks for your post Klav!
Love the pix with the scoot.
At first look, I thought that was a church built on the side of a steep hill - but maybe it's the queen of all wheelchair ramps!

Nice scooter, too!
How many miles these days?
Stig

That church was built on a slope.  Over 21,500 miles on the scooter now.

General Discussion / Re: 9/11 your experience?
« on: September 11, 2023, 02:42:49 PM »
I was going to school at the time and had sat down in the classroom a few minutes before class started when someone walked in and said a small plane had flown into the WTC.  We turned the TV on to CNN and watched.  It was obvious it was more than a small plane.  Then the second plane hit.  The CNN reporter was an idiot but we watched as events unfolded.  After a few hours they cancelled all classes and sent us home.

About a month before 9-11 I was in the Pentagon for some briefings.  The small auditorium where we had the briefing was where the plane hit.  If the timing had been different......

General Discussion / Re: Like 150i MPG
« on: August 28, 2023, 10:42:29 PM »
I have gotten anywhere from 70 to 103 MPG.  In cold weather I typically get in the 70s and 80s in warm weather.  I got 100+ for a few tankfulls when I was in Ohio and the speed limits were mostly 25-40 MPH.   My mileage also improved after I had a few thousand miles on it.  At first I was very disappointed as I only got around 70 MPG the first few months that I had it.

This is the best video I have seen so far for explaining how and why every rider should be trail braking.  I don't agree with 100% of what he says in the video but it is still a great video.  If you want to be a safer rider and you don't regularly use trail braking then you should watch this video unless you live someplace like Kansas that doesn't have any curves.

General Discussion / Re: What tire on the AK 550?
« on: July 26, 2023, 01:08:11 PM »
I've been using Feel Frees on my Majesty.  They work well.  The rear is good for around 5500 miles and front around 7000 for me.  Last time I needed tires they weren't available so I put a Continental on the front and a Different Metzler on the rear.

General Discussion / Obnoxious Ads

Anyone else who thinks the Ads on this forum are really obnoxious?  I'm on 3 other forums and Facebook but none have Ads nearly as obnoxious and intrusive as the ones on this forum.

General Discussion / Re: NSR - To keep, or not to keep…
« on: July 16, 2023, 11:39:05 PM »
My personal rule of thumb is that if I don't ride it at least 1000 miles per year it needs to go.  Right now with 5 bikes that isn't an issue for any of them.

I don't have any grilling pics but here in Alabama grilling time is year round.

I think this is a cool little bike but there really isn't a place for it in my garage.  I already have a KLX250 for dual sport riding and scooters for running around town.  I think this will sell moderately well.  For people who value simplicity and low cost this bike will be appealing.  The big damper on sales will be that it seems most Honda dealers add on exorbitant fees which will mean that this bike won't be all that inexpensive.  Of course there are some reasonable dealers out there.

I don't see this being as hot of a seller as the Trail Cub has been.
