Nearly 16,000 miles on this City Grip
« on: September 04, 2019, 08:31:41 PM »
Front tire, of course.
Rear was replaced at 12,000 miles.
(Chicken strips have been replaced several times. Bag of 'em for $4 Alirobba.com, comes with a really tiny tap to screw 'em in.)

Maybe this winter...?

Still looks good, doesn´t it. Our chinese and indian friends would probably head out for the next 16000 miles on this front michelin tire. :-)
Cheers,

There’s a whole topic on this. But simply, it’s a reference to the unworn band at the edge of your tyres. It’s supposed to reflect your courage in how far you’re prepared to lean the machine!

Always ride within your limits.

When sold my Super 8 the front City Grip had 17,000 miles on it.  I wish they made a City Grip in the correct size for the front of my Like 150i.

The front LIKE150I wheel is different size  than the LIKE200i?
12" rims ?
Not as wide?
Didn't know that.
Never thought my LIKE's tire was all that chunky -- but now that I look at it --- and at the front Liberty's.....guess it is.
Couldn't believe how modestly priced a set of Michelins were for my LIKE200ILX. ... I swapped them out at around the 400 mile mark on my new scooter 7 yrs ago....on the advice from veteran wet weather riders here.

The Like 150i uses a 110/70-12.  The Vespa Sprint uses the same size but the bigger Vespa's use a 120/70-12.  The City Grip comes in a 120/70-12 but not a 110.  At least I haven't been able to find it in the USA.  I'll bet it is offered in other parts of the world.  The Michelin Power Pure does come in a 110 so that's probably what I will use when I need a new front tire.

I'm sure a 120 would fit on the 150i but using a different tire size may confuse the ABS so I'll stick to the stock size.

Same story in the UK with my XT300 Klaviator. I can get a matched pair of Power Pures, but not City Grips. Maybe that will change as they sell more?

Continental Conti-scoots fit the bill.
2014 BV 350  "IndiGO" (fast, strong and tireless)
2006 Honda Rebel 250  "Snow Leopard" (stealthy, agile and durable)
2018 Lance Cali Classic 200i  "Black Panther" (smooth, nimble, quiet and quick)
2016 Wolf V-50 (sold)

Wanted a Kymco, ended up w a Lance, but that forum is inactive, so I am here
