OK, good to hear. I will take this thing back tomorrow.

Karl

congrats on your new purchase! I like the ride characteristics of the turf over the base model.

MXU / Re: MXU 500 Spark Plug Location ?

If the fuel pump is kicking on and has gas in the tank it will probably be your spark plug.

Short trips with the machine can cause this problem, although the 500cc is their best starting engine.

Tank Removal

-remove seat
-remove both side panels
-remove the small cover under the speedometer
-remove plastic around the tank

Take your time and keep track of all the parts. The front two tank bolts are the hardest to remove and install. Also, the clip for the fuel line can be tricky if you have never messed with one. (Do not break this piece!) Push (hands and fingers only) the white 90* piece in and then press down on the black retaining clip. Keep pressure on the black clip and pull the connector off. Wear glasses so you do not get gas in your eyes (there may still be some pressure in the line).

MXU / Re: 2015 MXU500 EPS problems
« on: January 01, 2016, 10:16:33 PM »
Just wanting to add some info on this subject.

Had a customer with a 700 eps model break a right front axle and then the eps started given us fits. The steering was off center (to the right) and hard to maneuver. Did a reset on the bike and it worked fine for about 30 miles. Customer returned it with no power steering and the eps light illuminated. Got it into the shop and replaced the ECM for the eps. Now when you started the bike the eps would jerk to the right and then shut down (some type of safety feature). Then we replaced the steering box and that fixed the problem. It's a good 1 hour job with two guys on it.

Take your exhaust off and check if there is a washer welded in the pipe.

Hard tops have been difficult to keep in stock for the 450i. Not sure on the source of the problem but KYMCO is aware.

The agility is a 40,000 km + machine

10,000km is pushing it on any Chinese (Tao Tao, roketa, etc.) bike before they start to fall apart

Made in China does not always mean junk

sounds like the speedometer cable broke. on the front wheel see if you can unscrew the cable from the speedometer gear box. try to pull the cable out and see if it's in two pieces.

first thing to do with anything that has been sitting is drain the gas out of the carburetor bowl.  flat screw driver is all you need

buy a multimeter. test the battery for 12v. if that's good, check for power at the relay then check for power coming out of relay. there should be 12v coming out the other side when you press the starter button.
