Son graduating UT Austin Friday
« on: May 17, 2017, 02:12:59 PM »
My oldest son, Christian (42) is graduating from UT Austin on Friday with a degree in RTF (Radio, Television, Film). Originally Deb and I were going to go but she's a bit under the weather as it appears it's just me attending graduation ceremonies from up our way. I have another son in Austin I'll be staying with and perhaps my son from San Diego will fly in too. I'm particularly proud of Christian as he went back to school as an old man compared to his contemporaries and maintained a 4.0 grade average and worked full time and paid his way 100%. Since Deb can't make it looks like I might take the SW for my 250 mile trek south on Friday. Bike is clean and ready.

Congratulations Dan and Deb. You have every reason to be proud. It blesses us when our offspring achieve such commendable feats. Have a safe and enjoyable ride and hope that Deb will be feeling much better. I know she hates to miss this event.

Congrats on the milestone. I know you and your family must be very proud. I graduated with a degree in animation and Live-action film making. I hope your son's as excited as I was when I earned my degree.

Have a safe trip back, if you haven't all ready,

- Wolf

Congrats Dan. It is never too late to go back to school and get your degree. Since he has a degree in RTF, maybe he can get a job with
Alex Jones and Infowars. Their always looking for new talent. Maybe he could work with staff Sargent Joe Biggs who owns Borderland Media.

Thank you Forbes. Nice to see someone reinvent themselves at an older age.  Most, as they age resign themselves to failed dreams. You had to do that too with your accident. We can blame things on bad luck, circumstances or any other excuse or we can take action and make it happen. How you doing good buddy?

I'm doing well. Thanks for asking. Working every day and still adjusting to the new normal. Now I'm just waiting to see if my insurance will pay for the foot I need. But I'm truly thankful for the journey I've come so far.

I too admire those who reinvent themselves at an older age.
My mother was such a person too. At age 34 and the Mother of 7 children, she was encouraged by Daddy to fulfill her dream of going to college and becoming a Language Arts teacher. Daddy worked to make it happen. And it did. So I can only imagine the joy you feel and the sense of accomplishment your son feels.
The best is yet to come for him.
