GPS mount for GV250
« on: May 18, 2011, 06:23:19 AM »
I just finished mounting a gps on GV250. You just buy a mount from  www.gpscity.com (cheaper and fast shipping) via www.ram-mount.com (more expensive). My specific GPS is Garmin nuvi 1450LMT or just 1450 model. Here is the links to customize my mount for reference.

-custom arm for the mount, you can choose short arm (2.25'' or standard 3'' long)

Total I spend around $70 for the system mount on GV250.

was the ram reservoir cover a generic or custom version?  The brake reservoir on the GV looks tiny compared to the clutch/brake reservoir on my BMW K1200LT.  I have the same set up on my motorcycle and I'm guessing the adjustable mounting holes on the cover would work on the smaller GV reservoir.  How does it look?  can you post a pic?

thanks

It's a generic one. Adjustable mounting hole. At first I saw the picture on the Ram website and check for pdf instruction for size (I guessed adjustable hole). Immerse yourself into those links to custom your mounting like on your bike.

Ram mount works great. Reservoir cover is adjustable & fits 2010 xc500. I used cover plate (zrmb346),  double socket arm 3” (zrmb201u), diamond shape with 1” ball (zrmb238), and finally a garmin holder matched to my gps. 4-pieces ... $45 from gpsZone.

Yes it can, have done it. But the GPS wire should be long enough

I just use the suction part that came with my GPS. I ride all the time and never had any troubles. I just hook the GPS onto the mount , run the wire under the seat and plug it in.  These GPS are cheap the day after Thanksgiving so if you lose it, so what.
