Yager GT 200i / I Rode Yesterday
« on: January 09, 2013, 02:30:58 PM »
I actually took a ride yesterday.  The weather was nice for the first time in a while.  My last ride was 12-24-12.  I just rode around for about an hour, stopped at Pep Boys and picked up a tire plugging kit.  Wow, an exciting day.  I just thought you all would like to know.

Yager GT 200i / Scoot Towbar
« on: December 16, 2012, 11:31:24 PM »
Does anyone know where to get a tow bar for the scoot.  When I bring it in for scheduled service, I need a way to tow it behind my car.  Also on vacation.

Yager GT 200i / This Is The Third Time
« on: December 13, 2012, 07:02:37 PM »
Yes, it is the third time that my battery cable got loose preventing me from taking a ride.  The last time I put a wrench on it and tightened it so that it could never come loose again.  Well it did.  This time before tightening it I doused it with thread locker by Permatex.  Hopefully, they will stay tight this time.

General Discussion / My Vacation
« on: October 12, 2012, 07:02:55 PM »
Wow, all I can say is wow.  I live in New Jersey but spent time on vacation in London and Paris.  What I saw was hard to believe for a guy from NJ.  Scoots and motorcycles by the hundreds.  The streets were loaded with what appeared to more 2 wheelers than 4 wheelers.  That was OK but the really surprising part was the way the riders drove.  Eight days and no accidents witnessed were amazing.  I have never imagined that with all of the weaving in and out in traffic, cutting in front of trucks, cars and busses and not paying attention to pedestrians, not one accident.  And in Paris noone paying attention to traffic laws.  Absolutely amazing.  She wanted to see Big Ben, The Tower of London, Windsor Castle, The Louve, etc, etc, etc.  It was all very nice and I suppose that eventually this tired feeling will diminish.
For me the last night spent at a topless caboret was on a par with the The Eiffel Tower.  What I will never forget however, is the 2 wheelers whizzing all over the place.  They are amazing fearless, maybe crazy riders.  Wow.

General Discussion / Air Filter
« on: October 03, 2012, 05:54:54 PM »
I just ordered a new air filter for my Yager.  I selected one from Moxie Scooters.com for $17.99 Plus $5.50 shipping.  After shopping around it looked like a good price so I bought it.  I also saw some that would cost $56.00 US.  While looking I saw that some just use filter materiel and place it on the old frame.  My first thought was that I could probably use the filter from my hot air home heater.  It seems like a good idea, but I was not sure what filter materiel was correct. So what does very one do?

Yager GT 200i / CELP Light
« on: September 30, 2012, 10:36:28 PM »
Today after a long hard ride (about 150mi.) I was coming home at a little over 65mph, just slightly over the red line.  I noticed the CELP light blink a few times.  I slowed to 60 but it kept blinking irregularly.  At 55mph it went quiet but as soon as I increased speed to 60, it blinked.  I went the rest of the way, about 20 miles, staying in the low 50's without seeing it come on and you know I was watching.  I got no other indication.  Oil and temp. were OK.  At least there was no temp or oil warning light coming on.  The Yager was running strong with no other indication of trouble.  Until I started for home the speeds were from 20 to 50 mph all day.  On the way home I was alone and picked up the speed to 65mph as previously indicated.  I know this is not normal since I frequently travel at that speed but this is the first time I saw the CELP light blink.  It does blink when I start up.  Should I take it to the dealer or do any of you have any suggestions?  I hate to bring it in to the dealer even though it is still under warranty.  It has less than 3000 miles on it.  The last oil change of syn was at 2000 miles.

Technical | How To / Bike Table
« on: September 09, 2012, 10:24:36 PM »
First, I am not a wrench head, whatever that is.  But I do like to do what needs to be done to my Yager, check tire pressure, Oil, change trans and engine oil and maybe even clean the bottom of the bike.  The problem is my knees and hips.  I walk fine, I just don't bend down to good.  So if anyone has built their own lift either out of wood, I think 2X4's and old kitchen countertop would be fine.  I am even considering a few cinder blocks and a countertop or some 2X6's that I think would be ok. But how do we get the bike on it?  So it is the ramp or lifts that may be the biggest problem.   Of course if a ramp, there are space considerations.  Lifts I think are out of the question without a skyhook.  If anybody has some ideas, maybe we can get a conversation going and come up with a solution.  Maybe, someone has already done it and will tell us how.

This is an old one but I still couldn't resist...

An elderly man on a Moped, looking about 90 years old, pulls up next to a doctor at a street light.
The old man looks over at the sleek shiny car and asks,'What kind of car ya got there, sonny?'

The doctor replies, 'A Ferrari GTO. It cost half a million dollars! '

'That's a lot of money,' says the old man. 'Why does it cost so much?'

'Because this car can do up to 320 miles an hour!' states the doctor proudly.

The Moped driver asks, 'Mind if I take a peek inside?'

'No problem,' replies the doctor.

So the old man pokes his head in the window and looks around.

Then, sitting back on his Moped, the old man says, 'That's a pretty nice car, all right... But I'll stick with my Moped !'

Just then the light changes, So the doctor decides to show The old man just what his car can do.
He floors it, and within 30 seconds The speedometer reads 160 mph.
Suddenly, he notices a dot in his rear view mirror. It seems to be getting closer!
He slows down to see what it could be -----------and suddenly WHOOOOSSSHHH !

Something whips by him going much faster !

'What on earth could be going faster than my Ferrari?' the doctor asks himself.
He presses harder on the accelerator and takes the Ferrari up to 250 mph.

Then, up ahead of him, He sees that it's the old man on the Moped!
Amazed that the Moped could pass his Ferrari, he gives it more gas and passes the Moped at 275 mph he's feeling pretty good until he looks in his mirror and sees the old man gaining on him AGAIN!

Astounded by the speed of this old guy, he floors the gas pedal and takes the Ferrari all the way up to 320 mph.

Not ten seconds later, he sees the Moped bearing down on him again!

The Ferrari is flat out, and there's nothing he can do!

Suddenly, the Moped plows Into the back of his Ferrari,  demolishing the rear end.

The doctor stops and jumps out and unbelievably the old man is still alive.

He runs up to the banged-up old guy and says, 'I'm a doctor.... Is there anything I can do for you?'

The old man whispers,

'Unhook my "braces/suspenders" from your side view mirror!'.

Yager GT 200i / Red Line
« on: July 17, 2012, 11:58:29 PM »
I just read the post on the new windshield, a while ago I thought I would want one, but I'm now happy with the stock shield.
Now to the red line.  I would like to know how many riders observe the warning.  My Yager redlines at 65 mph.  I have gone over the line to pass a slow cage, but only then and only for a very short time.  There are times when I'd like to cruise at 70 for a while but I'm afraid to cross the red line for more than a minute or so.  I'm looking for other opinions and how many feel the way I do.

Thanks,
Richard L.

Yager GT 200i / MY BIKE FELL
« on: June 21, 2012, 06:40:46 PM »
I have some scratches on my Yager.  Yes, it fell, yes I was on it.  Long story, but now I do not know how to fix the scratches.  They are deep enough to be felt with your finger.  If I could get an auto painter to do it, I would.  I asked two and they won't touch it.  If I could get the color in a spray can, I might give it a try.  Does anyone have any ideas?  There must be another person who scratched his bike.

Rich L.

Update - - - This is the answer from KymcoUSA; "We do not have any paint codes.  I can provide you the part # for the touch-up paint you can order through a KYMCO dealer if you'll confirm whether you have a gray or blue/black Yager."  I sent him the info requested.  Tills in Woodbury is the paint supplier, I'll see what Mike at Tills says once I get the part no.

Richard L.

Update #2; I spent yesterday at Tills.  Fortunately or unfortunately, the camera was on the road.  Tom, I think The Manager, and Mike got together and with good eyes they were able to match the color.  With a drop of it on my finger I touched the worst scratch and lo and behold, it seemed a perfect match.  They put it into a special spray can and gave me some instructions.  The only downside is that the paint is only good for 24 hours after I open it so I can't save it for another day.  I'll do the job next week and give another update.

Update #3; I did the job on Monday.  After about on hour of taping I picked up the paint can. First I painted the bottom of a shovel for practice. It took about 3 coats before I started to see color.  It had a fine spray and at first, I thought that they forgot to put the color into the paint.  After 3 or 4 coats it really started looking good.  Then I moved to the scoot, I don't know how many coats I put on but I kept going with very light layers until I was satisfied with the coverage.  It looked very good, on Tuesday it still looked good but a little darker than the original paint.  Hopefully, it will lighten as it matures.  Either way, I'll be happy.

Richard L.

ps; I am still waiting for the touchup paint from the dealer.

Yager GT 200i / clock
« on: June 17, 2012, 06:54:15 PM »
The clock on my Yager has stopped keeping good time.  It is so far off, I don't know if it is fast or slow.  Anybody else have a similar problem?

Richard L.

6.18.12
UPDATE;  This AM the bike would not start.  A quick investigation found that the pos. terminal on my battery was very loose.  I think that that was also the clock problem.
