People GT 300i / Kymco People GT 300i on sale
« on: October 08, 2012, 10:36:57 PM »
I was in Sloans Motorcycle dealership today in Murfreesboro, TN. Man thats a huge dealership. They carry Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Polaris, Aprilia, Vespa, Victory, Kymco, Moto Guzi and KTM. I believe thats where JP bought Wanda the Honda.

They had a ton of Kymcos. There were 4 or 5 Kymco GT 300is. They had a summer clearance tag on them marked down to $4383. Thats $1016 of MSRP. They had other models marked down as well but I didn't take pictures so I won't mmention the price.

Thats a good deal for any body close by.

People 250 / S 250 dual front disc
« on: September 01, 2012, 10:45:50 PM »
I was looking around on Stadium Yamaha Kymco parts and noticed that the left and right brake disc are different part numbers but what is surprising the left one is $48.30 and the right one is $60.96. Whats up with that. They look the same.

No I don't need any, I just happen to notice that they were different prices.

People 250 / Removed air box restriction
« on: June 02, 2012, 10:55:48 PM »
I removed a restriction in my S 250 air box cover. I don't know if it runs faster but it is a little louder.

The air box with the tube that restricts air flow.

Restriction in the air inlet

Tube removed, air inlet in side dia much larger.

People 250 / adjusted valves and changed spark plug
« on: March 15, 2012, 10:11:37 PM »
Well today I worked on my P 250S. I adjusted the valves. They were a little tight. Around .002. I set them on a tight .004. The original spark plug was in it so I put in an NGK iridium. The gap on the orginal was set at .035. The book calls for .027. I had emailed NGK about the gap on the iridium plug for my application and they said to put it at .027 as well.

It had not been starting right up and the idle was not the greatest. Now it starts right up and idles great.

The valves are not the easiest to get to but a lot of money was saved by doing the job myself.

General Discussion / Shad Top case
« on: November 10, 2011, 02:19:15 PM »
Any one with a Shad top case be careful with the keys. if you loose one or both of them Shad does not supply key blanks and no one not even a lock smith will have the correct blank. I checked every where.

Shad does sell the complete lock cylinder with two keys for $25.00 plus shipping. The whole thing cost me $37.00. I was not happy about this but it is what it is. Its a little tricky changing out the lock cylinder but not too bad.

People 250 / People S 250 rear splash board
« on: October 16, 2011, 08:45:10 PM »
let me post this over here..

The rear splash board on my People S 250 got ripped and fell off.  I got a new one but can't figure how to mount it. I didn't see how it was mounted originally. It somehow goes over the rear inner fender.

The part # is 80103-LDH1-E000, Plate A splash board.

Any one with an S 250 I would appreciate the help. A picture would be nice.

heres what it looks like, it is a rubber piece.

General Discussion / People 150 tire size
« on: May 02, 2011, 03:49:14 PM »
Has anyone put larger tires on a Kymco People 150?  The front rim is not very wide for a much larger tire. There is not much clearance between the shocks on the rear.

Also the selection of tires is limited as well. I was just wondering if anyone had up-graded and what problems they ran into.

Thanks
