General Discussion / Backed into
« on: January 27, 2016, 12:23:37 AM »
So yesterday when waiting at the coffee shop to meet with a new member of MSLF Carolina Scooter Club I was standing on the sidewalk beside my Like who was parked in the middle of a street side parallel parking spot. I watched as an older gentleman got into the SUV parked in the space in front of me and before I could react backed straight into my scooter knocking it over. If the disc lock alarm hadn't gone off most likely he would have rolled right on top of it. To say the least I was beside myself with rage but held it in luckily it runs fine byt a ton of body damage which his GEICO insurance has taken full responsibility for fixing. I will most likely be getting whole left side, front fender, trunk, and left brake level all replaced and probably more.

Search for Making Slow Look Fast Carolina Scooter Club on Facebook. We are a brand new club in North Carolina and are for a few more days still accepting requests for charter membership. We are about bringing scooter enthusiasts together and helping each other. We are looking for any and all makes, models, and people. We are currently planning a big meet in May but will have local rides and get togethers as needed. Even if you don't happen to scoot but want to be involved feel free to join on FB or message me here. At this point in time we are a very spread out but experienced group just looking to grow. Even if you're not near please join and support the group on FB thanks.

General Discussion / Scooter Mitts

Got these in took alost two weeks from China but was scheduled for a month so I'm happy. I won't wear these too much but they do look and feel warm and will definitely keep wind off my gloves and fingertips. Only plan to use them when under 30. Maybe will cut them down some I tested and can use turn signals and all that

Technical | How To / High flow filter element in stock air box
« on: January 08, 2016, 02:58:37 AM »
Alot of people have told me not to run a pod filter even if shielded so for now what I have done is get some UNI red filter element and cut it to fit my stock box this is really open compared to dense OEM filter.

For Sale / Need Stock airbox for Like 50 2T
« on: January 01, 2016, 11:26:37 PM »
If anyone has a stock airbox for a Like 50 or one that would fit on it and could part with it I'd appreciate it I would like to mod the airbox instead of going to open filter once I do my BBK and would like to have one to cut up and play with.

Technical | How To / Malossi 70cc BBK P/N 319987 Build for Like 50
« on: December 31, 2015, 05:04:21 AM »
 :o
So I had more money than I knew what to do with and went ahead and ordered the Malossi BBK for my Like 50. What I need now is input from everyone else who has installed this or other BBKs on the 50cc Kymco AC 2T motor. I need to know what if anything else I need to order, You can see what I have in my sig and I have ordered new filter element for airbox, and 90-109 jets for Malossi/Dellorto 19mm carb, also 2 new cable splitters to fix the ghetto job I did on stock carb cable. I may take the cable off but leave the oil pump on and switch to a 50/1 premix. I don't plan on installing this all by myself I plan on having Carolina Fun Machines do it or atleast have it done at their facility. I have been moonlighting over there a few days when I've been off from my fulltime job during the holiday seasons helping them put together atvs, go carts, dirt bikes, and buggies. I am on a walk in walk the front door all the way to the back in the shop first name basis with everyone there and I"ve asked hey if I need something done and y'all aint got the time to do ti can I come in and use your stuff to tinker with it and got the response of yeah come on in and tinker away. I need to know from anyone and everyone what problems and stuff to watch out for, any hints and tips to make this install go smoother, and any special tooling that may be needed. This won't be installed immediately probably wait till february so any and all info and comments are appreciated, Thanks in advance.

Like 50 2T / My Like so far. . .
« on: December 28, 2015, 03:13:34 AM »
So I have had my 2013 Like 50 for just a bout 2 months now and when I first got it I was completely new to scooters in general, Kymcos, and 2 strokes. The day I brought it home I found this site and started reading as much as I could. I have had some serious hiccups along the way but have learned a ton in the last two months enough to where Carolina Fun Machines actually lets me come in and help out when they are busy. I've learned a ton in the last two months enough to have put on most of the bolt ons you can lol. I now have a Technigas Next R Chrome exhaust, Malossi Carb Kit with a 19mm Dellorto Carb, 90 main jet, Malossi Multivar, 8g Dr Pulley Sliders, Blue Malossi COntra spring, and Malossi Torsion controller. I have alot to go to get this tuned right (I somehow misplaced the rest of my 90s range jets) but it was this site and the previous posts that helped m install all this myself and keep it running reasonably well the next step is a BBK and either a more heavily modified air box or open filter.

General Discussion / 20% off at Treatland.tv
« on: December 26, 2015, 12:57:46 AM »

the rumors are true! 20% off end of the year super saver, super sale, super clearance, everything MUST GO GO GO, sale at your favorite moped store, treatland.tv . gosh, i love those guys.

from now until thurs DEC 31st at thee stroke of midnight you can enjoy 20% off all available TREATS with the coupon code - 'mytreats' and free shipping over $150 (sorry international dudes, contiguous 48 USA only) with the coupon code 'freeship'. if your order is over $150 enter both coupons to get the 20% discount and the free shipping. this should equal big savings!!! if not then go back to step 1 and start over!!

let's go over those codes again:

20% off, use code 'mytreats'
free shipping over $150, use code 'freeship'

notations : coupons valid from now, as in, right now, until thurs dec 31st at 11:59PM, coupons not valid for dealers, free shipping will ship by our chosen method (ups ground, USPS parcel post, USPS priority), coupons must be entered at the time the order is placed in the box marked 'secret code goes here'.

we are closed thursday and friday this week AND thurs/fri next week so the majority of orders placed during the sale will ship out the week of 1/4-1/8. we'll get a bunch out this coming mon-weds (12/28/-12/30) and we'll do some overtime for you too instead of staying home and eating pie on the couch in our jammies so I hope that makes you feel better. however, yes, it would be in your best interest to just plan on your order shipping out the first week of the new year 1/4-1/8. sure you could take away everyone's holiday at the shop and ruin xmas and the new year and 2016, but i don't think you would want to do that, would you? I know i'm not going to!!! that would be so un treat like. it would make the most sense to let your treat elves enjoy the holidays and have a few days to chill before the madness of 2016. so to sum that up and cause i haven't met the boss mans word count minimum on this essay, we're going to have your order out as soon as possible, but we have a bunch of days we are taking off for the holiday, so please don't be mad at us. we promise to return to our posts on time in 2016 and fulfill all your dark, wet moped part shipping fantasies like never before. oh my.

2015 has been insane! 2016 is going to be even more insane! thank you again for all the orders. we have many amazing treats in store for you in 2016.

enjoy the holidays!!!
xoxo
