mxu 250 engine cutting out

my 2005 mxu 250 cuts out when i  try to rev the engine.
any body got any ideas of hat could be the cause

Details.... When did it start? When was the bike last serviced? How did it start?
How many miles on the bike? Original owner?
What are you wearing? ;)

Thanks for coming back to me
The quad has covered 3800 Klms and needs a service oil change etc the problem started when I was riding it just cut out . The quad starts and runs but when applying gas it cuts out ???

I would pull the top off the carb, and check that rubber diaphragm for tears Next I would pull off the float bowl, and look for dirt/anything up in the main jet.

Also pull off the vacuum line that goes to the fuel petcock. Suck on the end of the line, and you should have a steady stream of fuel out of the tank.

Could be as simple as a bad spark plug but I think the above stuff may get it.

i have exactly the same problem on mine (same year) but i have 4 x mxu's and only this prob on one, i have cleaned the carb and they have quite new plugs, will def try the other ideas out though....cheers ;0

Last time I had this problem, grandson's Mongoose 90, the nearly new NGK plug was bad. Plugs are pretty cheap and fairly easy to change. I would do that first. Second I would tear into the carb if the plug doesn't fix it.
