Title: 125cc or 150cc
Post by: boblwms on October 09, 2011, 07:24:29 PM
In about one or two months I am going to be in the market for a scooter and am debating between a 125cc and a 150cc.  What is the advantage of the larger 150 cc?

A bit obvious, isn't it?
More power and torque, if only a little.

In the spring I'm gonna be trading in my Agility 50 for either a Super 8 (150cc) or an Agility 125. Pricewise the Agility 125 is the better deal but if there is a big performance difference I would spring for the 150. I would like to hear peoples opinions on this also, not just the DUH! its bigger comments.  Thank you

The biggest difference may be tire sizes.
The Super 8 has 14" tires  & the Agility 125 has 12"
The wheel base for the 150 is a bit longer too.
These 2 differences usually make for a nicer ride.... The bike is more stable and less "busy" as you go down the road.

And the 150 has a windscreen that may not be much help, but is more than the 125.
the 125:  http://www.kymcousa.com/showroom/scooters/agility125/specifications.html (http://www.kymcousa.com/showroom/scooters/agility125/specifications.html)
and 150: http://www.kymcousa.com/showroom/scooters/super8150/specifications.html (http://www.kymcousa.com/showroom/scooters/super8150/specifications.html)

I'd pay the $600 more and get the larger wheels and prettier scooter (Red/White is faster).

See if they will let you ride each around the parking lot at least.

Scoot safely,

The power difference is 1hp, and that's the info you can find on any kymco dealer site.
The Super8 is a bit stiffer, the seat has a slight slope to the front which I don't like but
14" wheels are a plus.

There's not really that much difference between the two, both could use rear disc brake, which
the Agility City 125 (16" wheels) has.

As for power difference, it's as small at it gets.
