General Discussion / Re: Why do HD riders do that?
« on: August 30, 2016, 07:37:05 PM »
It tough to understand why they do it unless you try it.

I ride like this on whatever bike i'm on, if riding with one other guy. Its called riding abreast.

In all actuality you have to be a proficient rider to do this. What happens is both riders will be able to see obstacles at the same time and will be able to react accordingly.

When in traffic, we can change lanes easier. Basically I got his his one side, he has the other. We are not trying to blast by people, we are just commuting, cruising just like the cars.

Anyways, it does require skill, and is quite enjoyable, because 2 people are riding like one.

I see HD riders ride next to each other in the same lane of a busy four lane blvd at night.
Why do they do that?
There is no room left to dodge even a street-sleeping Raccoon in that formation.
They are surely much better riders than I am.
I'm going to check out the Easy Rider dvd from the library, again, and study up....in the off chance I ever meet another LIKE200i rider when I'm making a Mexican drug buy out west.

Nice lady phoned yesterday. Asked me to take her two question survey. She said, "Do you plan to vote for Trump,.... or Hillary? "
My answer took her back a bit...after a pause, she actually laughed out loud!
I love America.

General Discussion / Re: MSF course, motorcycle clutch vs CVT
« on: August 23, 2016, 01:58:59 AM »
I started on an xciting 500, then got a TMAx. I can see how you might find using a clutch fun. i got the same exhileration when i first got my xt225. then a KTM duke, then a concours14. however, during the time inwas gettign motorcycles, i took my tmax california for vacations. my xciting 500 engine blew. I just picked up the a Super 8 and find myself riding it more than the motos now. twist and go is still pretty fun!

using a clutch and such is fun too.

So put seafoam and 93 octane gas and checked it out on GPS and well darn it, its practically spot on.

50 showed 49-50 on gps
and to0 speed on 57-58 showed 56.5 on gps

so any more advice. is this what i should expect. however i must say the windsheild has been removed because it broke but have one on order. Should this help me get more mph.

Super 8 150 / Re: Anyone use the 2fastmoto variator for 150cc?
« on: August 03, 2016, 07:45:55 PM »
more top end ideally.

maybe faster acceleration on the other end.

I knew a guy who had a yamaha vino amd could out accelerate me off the line with my xciting 500 up to 65mph. he was using malossi multivar on his 125

sissy mary,

how are the 33grams working for you? since my blown engine looks like you surpassed me in mileage.

Look into the TMAX. I have one of those as well and was easily able to get 170miles to a tank going about 80mph. also since its a 2 cylinder, roms were lower.
