Grandvista 250 / 2005 GV250 want to sell
« on: November 12, 2022, 01:33:52 AM »
I have a  2005 GV250 in pristine condition 1250 mi [used for a local commute], that I want to sell.
I am turning 80, and the wife doesn't want me to ride anymore,
Any Idea what I should ask? could not find a 'Bluebook' for it.  It has rear box and the electric folding mirrors [very rare].
My local Kymco dealer [Portland OR],  doesn't take anything older than 5 years for resale, so I will need to sell it myself.
The dealer also told me that since Kymco stopped the GV250 in 2009, parts are very hard to find, so a buyer is on their own.
I also have the full service manual.

I have a 2005 GV250, and I was told by my local [Portlans OR] dealer that the Kymco stopped production of the GV in 2009, and that parts are no longer available. Since I wanted to sell my GV250 this was not good news.

Related question as I have not yet needed to replace my bulb.
I installed a high/low flashing unit in my 2005 Grandvista 250.
Will the LED work in as the halogen did?

1] 14 years
2] 2400+ mi
3]Love it, but only ride it to and from the office, about 20 mi round trip.
4] ~40 mpg Run between 50 and 55 mph for most of the commute
5] Original tires
6] Keep trickle charger on when not in use
7] Can do 75 [top speed] on interstate, BUT unsafe because of the wheel size.
It is VERY sensitive to wind and passing trucks. True of any scooter because of tire size.

Older Coot [77]

I keep mine on trickle charge all year round.
It is a 2005, and I have had no battery problems, Still the original.

Grandvista 250 / Re: Faulty dashboard - 2008 Kymco Grand Vista

had to replace my dash, would not hold settings.
New unit $200 (US) + labor.
But at the current conversion rate that would be ~2400 rand.
If you are quoting US dollars ($800) that is 4x too much.

Had the same problem, faulty dash. Would always show KPH, clock and other functions kept resetting every time I shut off the bike [2005 GV250].
Had the dash replaced, took 6 months to get a replacement $200 + labor.

Grandvista 250 / Setting Grand Vista 250 instrument panel parameters
« on: April 11, 2015, 12:34:18 AM »
Neither the Rider's Manual, nor the shop manual for the Grand Vista 250 provided step by step instructions for the setting of the various parameters on the instrument panel.
There are three buttons - mode, adjust, and set.
The manual only refers to them for setting the time and date, but does not indicate how.
The other problem is that somehow, additional [unidentified] functions  are available with no instructions for changing, as well as how to avoid screwing up one parameter trying to either set another, or correcting a mistake
The additional functions are a trip odometer, a stopwatch, and the ability to switch between KMH and MPH.
Does anyone know of a detailed set of instructions for setting and using all these features?
I have sent a request for same to Kymco, but have received no reply.
I keep screwing up my settings trying to make changes, the most frustrating is being stuck in the KMH mode
without knowing how to exit without screwing up other settings.

General Discussion / Re: Kymco Links
« on: October 18, 2013, 06:45:32 PM »
Has anyone had any luck contaction Kymco HQ regarding parts not available in the US?
I have tried both the post link you posted for worldwide, as well as the email acssociated with it, and have not received a reply. How can I get Kymco to reply?

I am looking for a replacement part that is NOT available in the US.
It was damaged in a tip-over, and I wish to purchase a replacement.
In the tip-over the LED quit functioning, and I wish to replace ASAP.

The part# is:
GH-105
G88120-kkC4-9000
SH500B

It is a LEFT hand mirror [color silver], with LED turn indicator, for a Grand Dink [Grand Vista]
Please advise how I can purchase this replacement item, as it is not available in the US.

Thank you for your assistance.
