Kymco Xciting 500 stalling
« on: September 04, 2008, 11:21:31 PM »
My Kymco Xciting 500 is stalling at rpms below 2500 rpm.  I left it in the garage for 3 weeks without starting it. Now whenever I start it it immediatley stalls unless I gas it. I suspect that it is not getting enough fuel or there is water in the gas tank. Any suggestions on how to drain the tank or any other ideas are welcome.

your fuel may gave "gone off", although three weeks seems a bit short time for this to happen..petrol is a mixture of hydrocarbons some of which are known as the light ends which is the component  which makes it easier to start. winter grade fuel has nore light ends than summer grade ..if you dont use it after a while all the light ends evaporate and make it harder to get going or if you let your bike sit in the open in the hot sun it will expand more than the other parts ..this is what increases the pressure in the tank if it gets hot..it will all expand but the lighter parts turn gaseous quicker..try dumping the fuel and filling up with fresh ;D
