Sounds like it is working out pretty well.

I haven't done it personally but plan to in the future but I hear really good things about "Ram Mount".  They should have something that will work for you.  Check them out.

Super 8 / Kymco Super 8 2t Parts selection
« on: June 02, 2014, 04:24:18 AM »
So I'm trying to get my parts list for my 1st round of upgrades for my stock but derestricted scooter.

Here is what I have so far.

1. Pipe - going with the Tecnigas Triops

2.Variator -
1st choice is Jasil SV1 (Does not come with Torque spring. Do I need to buy one   and if so which one would be a good choice).

2nd choice Jasil Next Generation (It comes with torque spring).  It is about 26 dollars more than the SV1 but with matching spring, maybe worth it.  Also not sure if it is better and why than the SV1.)

3.  Clutch -
1st Choice - Stage6 MKII (I assume that it does not come with Clutch bell.  Do I need a new one now or can I upgrade later and use stock one for now.  If so they have a Wing Cooler version and the R/T Clutch Bell that comes in 3 different sizes 460, 480 and 500.  Which would be good?)  Most of the places are out of stock for this clutch, so may have to go with 2nd choice

   2nd Choice -  Malossi Delta

Will I need a different contra spring with any of these.  If so which one?

4.  Roller weights -
Trying to decide on which ones to start with.  Stock is 8.5 I believe.  Thinking of 6.0 grams to start with and probably lower later if it needs it.

What do you think about these for starters?

Thanks
Greg

70 kit and carb, etc to come later.

This might help some. Tech. has always made quality pipes. They were the first brand I bought, and I actually still have one that is about 7 years old, and looks as good as the day I bought it.

I see I got the pleasure of being your 10,000 post on this forum.  As far as the pipe,  on some forums people have said it is as good or better than the Stage6 Pro or Yasuni R.  And some saying it is on par with a Yasuni C16.  Wish I could find some Dyno test or direct comparision results to some of the other pipes like the one they had in tunningmatters. The Ultimate Scooter Tuning Exhaust Test (70cc Sport) http://www.tuningmatters.com/reviews/exhausts/scooter-tuning-exhaust-test/.  They have dyno tests and charts.  Anyway might take a chance on it as it appears to work well with tuned 50cc and also a 70cc kit.

Super 8 / Kymco Super 8 2t and Tecnigas Triops

I'm looking at the tecnigas triops. Racing planet says it is compatible and a good exhaust..  Anybody got any thought on whether this would be a good choice.  I also want something that will go well with a 70 bbk that I plan on doing at a later date.

Thanks

I'm still using the stock exhaust that has had the washer by the manifold taken out.  Looking to replace it with a performance pipe.

Super 8 / 2013 Kymco Super 8 2t Tuning Upgrade Help
« on: May 28, 2014, 11:33:59 PM »
Hope you guys can help me.  I bought a 2013 Kymco Super 8 50 2t a 3 weeks ago.  I had it derestricted (smooth drive boss,  Exhaust,  CDI and Up-jetted the carb). Now getting about 36-37 MPH on the flats. I eventually want to go to a Big Bore Kit but for now want to get :

1. New Pipe - Looked at a Stage6 Pro or Stage6 Pro Replica and Yasuni R.  Wrote Yasuni but they could not tell me if it would fit.  So will probably go with Stage6. Where can I buy one?  How do I know if it will bolt up?  The websites I go to  lists other Scooter models and engines like Minarelli and Piaggio etc.  How do I know what kind of engine group I'm in ?  I believe it is a KF10AA but which engine style does it match for parts selection?

2.  Variator -  Looking at Stage6 (They have different versions) which one do you suggest.  They have an overrange one too.  What is the difference?  Also looked at Malossi Multivar and Malossi Multivar 2000.  Is one better than the other and why?  It appears that the Malossi also come with 9 gram roller weights I was thinking 6 grams was a good starting point and probably looking to go lower at sometime later.  Your thoughts? Also what clutch spring?

3.  Clutch - Stage6 They have an overrange one too.  What is the difference and where can I get one?

Most of the work will be done at the suzuki dealer but they are motorcycle mechanics and haven't had a lot of experience with scooter upgrades and haven't provided alot of advise on parts other than what they find on racingplanet website.  Since racing planet doesn't have Stage6 they don't know anything about it.

What parts do you suggest and where can I get them?  I live in Sarasota Florida and would prefer someplace in US if there out there.  But will buy from Europe or Canada if I have too.  Just thought it would be easier to return if they don't fit and of course shipping would be cheaper and faster.

After this round and when I get more money I will add a Big Bore Kit and get a bigger Carb.

Does this sound like a reasonable plan?  Any and all comments/advice, links etc. appreciated.

Thanks
Greg
