For Sale / 2013 Xciting 500Ri ABS for Sale
« on: February 04, 2018, 11:19:00 PM »
Selling my gold colored 2013 Kymco Xciting 500Ri ABS scooter-  (Wife wanted something a little "bigger" so we got a Burgman 650 for now).  NADA lists this Kymco Xciting 500 at 2240 low retail and 2950 average retail. KBB has trade in at 2590 and dealer retail at 3790.

I've added a tall Givi windshield, 40 liter Shad case, 12V dash receptacle, 12v plug for heated clothing or battery charging. It has just under 17,250 miles. It has about 5,700 miles on current set of tires (Michelin City-Grips).

It weighs about 470 pounds (It's not a moped or toy- for those that aren't familiar with the Xciting 500). Shoot me an offer if you're interested or pass on the info if you know someone that may be. I know I'm not gonna get 3K, so don't fret to make an offer.

I've had it posted on Craigslist for $2800 - I'm located just on the north side of Fort Worth but No Paypal, No Google Voice verification stuff, No shipping anywhere no trades, and I don't need help selling it.  A friend on this forum (Moparkid) has ridden it and may chime in on his thoughts on it.  A recent mishap with his Downtown 300 probably is keeping him from getting my 500.

I can email pictures of it but can't figure out how to post them here on the forum (files are too large- Stig makes it look so easy!)

Thanks, Charlie -

Just stopped by my local Kymco dealer (Moxie Scooters in Colleyville, TX - a suburb on the NE side of Fort Worth, TX) to pick up an air filter I had ordered for my 2010 Yager GT200i.   The packaging was labeled (Kymco factory labeling) with GV250 (Grand Vista 250) and Xciting 250 -nothing for the Yager.  Well it is the correct one-I just put the new one in my Yager AND since I had just bought a 2008 Grand Vista, I picked up one of the other filters the dealer had ordered for his inventory.

So, you guys looking for Yager Air filters, might start looking for Grand Vista air filters.  Maybe some vendors will carry that, not knowing it fits the Yager too.

Yager GT 200i / How to clear CELP codes
« on: June 12, 2013, 02:05:23 AM »
Started the Yager to take out for a ride  :) and the CELP light came on :-\ - looks like 4 blinks. (TPS?- I started it while holding the throttle partly open-a habit from starting my Grand Vista which is not fuel injected).   How do you clear the CELP codes?

Thanks

Charlie

Xciting 500 / 2008 Xciting 500 Value
« on: March 08, 2013, 01:06:23 AM »
Looking at a used '08 Xciting 500, just over 1,400 (one thousand four hundred) miles on it.  Has an oversized windshield (don't know brand).  Has some slight scuff marks along one side (like it rubbed up against a white garage door jamb).  Price has been $4,400 for a couple of months and has now dropped to $4K.  Saw another one in a paper with only 200 miles and he is asking $5,900.  KBB shows $2,860 retail sale at a dealer.  Any ideas on what a fair price would be?

This past week after some really cold weather (down in the mid 20's-cold by Fort Worth, Texas standards) I brought out the Yager and found water droplets (like someone had mist sprayed water) in a bottom corner of the instrument cluster bezel :(  I got my 2010 Yager used (only 68 miles) in December 2012.  I keep it stored inside an unheated but insulated RV storage building but ride it some every time the weather permits ;D (I have put on over 1K miles since getting it).  I haven't spayed the dash with water or been in the rain - don't know about original owner.  Anyone know if the bezel can be detached and dryed out?

Technical | How To / Transporting - how much to compress front fork?
« on: January 10, 2013, 03:28:52 AM »
Just how much should the front fork (shock/springs) be compressed when tying down the scooter for transport?  I have a carrier that mounts on the back of my truck so the scooter is perpendicular to the truck.  Some people say not to compress the forks other say 5 -10 mm (that ain't very much).  Pictures/videos of how you transport (in particular the fork compression question) would be great.

We've got 70 degree sunny weather coming in on Friday around Fort Worth.  I'm hitting the road 8)

Yager GT 200i / Lift/jack stand for Yager
« on: December 27, 2012, 09:14:26 PM »
Looking to get a lift/jack stand (like Harbor Freight ATV/motorcycle stand/lift).  My old knees don't work on the floor so I'd like to lift it up to work on the valves, etc.  Can these lift the Yager without removing the plastic pan under the frame?  With most of the weight in the back end, does that prohibit the use of the lift anyway?

Thanks,
Charlie P.

Yager GT 200i / Suspension adjustments
« on: December 26, 2012, 07:39:50 PM »
New to scooters and have just purchased a 2010 Yager.  Can anyone make recommendations or explain the various settings for the shock pre-load?  I will be riding 2 up (300 lbs total) some of the time and would like to know what the general settings should be on the shocks.  Thanks,  Charlie.
