Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) 11(?) on 2015 Like 200i
« on: September 22, 2017, 01:40:29 AM »
With 840 or so miles on my 2015 Like 200i, I've noticed the CELP blinking when first turned on.  This may have happened before and I didn't notice, but here's the sequence: turn key to "on," light goes on 2 seconds, off 3 seconds, on 1 second, off, on 1/2 second.  That looks like a code 11, but it's not exactly as the Cyclepedia Service Manual describes how the CELP is supposed to behave.   The manual (p 241) says the light should be off for 5 seconds (not 3) after the initial 2 on, followed by the first code, 3 seconds off, the second code, etc., and then the codes repeat (p 240) after 5 seconds off.  My "11" doesn't repeat.  I also tried resetting the self-diagnosis memory using the throttle method for "early models" described on pp 241-242.  No change. The manual (p 243) says that in later models (the manual is copyright 2014 and my scoot is a 2015) after the codes cycle four times, the codes clear from the system memory.  Did Kymco change the CELP sequence after the manual was published?  Is this not a trouble code at all?  Is there a later manual?  Thanks!

Sounds about right a code 11 based on my MyRoad 700i factory service manual. Not sure if the code descriptions would be the same or not. Mine says TMAP temperature sensor malfunction.

My manual says ignition coil or electric circuit malfunction, but it's running fine. So I'm wondering whether this is really a fault code or an initiation sequence of flashes.

First off, thanks for the pix. Nice looking scooter with those bars!
Pretty sure we had a LIKE200I owner on here with codes for temp sensor failure. I think he was pricing the sensor last I  recall.
Bad batch of the sensors out there?
Anyway, throwing codes would get me back to the dealer since your scoot is still under warranty. Let them read your scoot with their tool...and see where that leads.
That sensor is assisting the ECU in some fashion....keeping us all cleaner? Or maybe doing nothing...since we are aircooled, so not failing to trigger a cooling fan.
Does your scooter have any driveability issues?
Running fine, otherwise?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

You shouldn't get any codes unless the engine computer detects a problem. If it's under warranty have the dealer fix it like Stig said.

I suppose a 2015 could just recently  be out from under the 2yr warranty. ...but there is a longer warranty on the emissions equipment...which could include the part throwing this code?
Visit dealer.
