Hi, I am new to the forum.
With a little search I found out, that the fuse is just behind the power jack - behind the left plastic wall of the small front storage, where the jack is mounted.
But how do I access it? What do I have to unscrew?

you have to remove the windshield, the front tupper ware completely, and install a dash mounted fuse holder, beside the power jack, then it will be good for anything you want to plug in , fuse will be outside and handy, most have put a 3 amp fuse in,.

It's quite easy to get to the fuse, although it is a stupid location as the fuse holder is an inline type. You first need to remove the windshield (4 bolts) then the entire front section (6 screws on the black reverse side). Tilt the front section forward and the fuse holder is on the left, just behind the socket. The fuse is a M205 (20x5mm) glass type, about 1 amp or something.
I have moved my fuse to a panel-mount so I can simply access it by opening the glovebox compartment. I have also changed the 12V socket to a twin USB socket.

The problem with the USB is that you can no longer do a low power charge to the battery. Since there is no easily accessed battery lead taps it does make it handy too have the 12v power port. I do like the added fuse holder though, that can be a life saver. Mine is blown but I still have not had the desire to do the fuse, and since it would be apart the mod..

I did think about the battery-charging issue and put a waterproof 12V socket just above the air filter box, directly connected to the battery via ring terminals with an inline fuse.

I just added a Water tight ATM fuse holder. Buttoned it all up with a 5 amp fuse to find out, on the 2011 model at least, the adapter is ignition controlled. So it looks like I will eventually have to do an under seat 12v access for both a charger and heavy enough lines they could be use do jump start.
