ugh!

I don't like playing in the snow like I used to. Had to stop before i got a blister on my right thumb due to pushing the shift lockout button. Gotta be some way of adjusting the trigger

That button can be removed, the only thing it does is keeps you from going from forward into reverse, at least that was the original intention !!
Don't complain, at least you have some snow to play in, around here we barely have gotten enough to leave a foot print....had all the snow toys fueled and ready to go,  never run after initial preperation, will waste a whole tank of fuel just sitting !!  Boring !!

MXU / Re: MXU 270 no spark
« on: March 09, 2023, 10:31:02 PM »
They make a small tool called a gap checker.  It installs between the plug and the plug wire.  There is a gap that is adjustable so you can see the actual spark and how far it will jump ( the adjustable gap). We see them alot in the marine business, but have used them for all my gas engine testing. Your spark should jump at least an 1/8" gap and should be mostly blue, a really yellow spark means weak....  Best I can help you with...

I agree with squirting lube in to flush it out. Probably some crud in there.  Possibly a failure in the switch, but more likely just crud .  worse case scenerio is to by an aftermarket switch to replace the stock one.

Kymco News / Re: Contacting Kymco USA
« on: February 19, 2023, 05:30:05 PM »
My Kymco 450i has been excellent, not one complaint since new in 2015.  Always bragged about what a tough machine it has been.  However, would I ever buy another....probably not.  With the poor service and parts availiability and with what is goung on in the real world in Taiwan....wouldnt take the chance on a Kymco product. Wish they would turn things around as they could have a good US market.  Unless things change drastically, will never own another Kymco, even though I love my Kymco machine !!  Will just keep it and run it until it dies from old age !!

Is there storage inside, looks quite heavy duty for just a visor...

General Discussion / Re: NSR: Time for better vision

Yes...very critical to get the lens in the proper position or they won't work !!  Battled that when I was working as a toolmaker. I even had a prism added for closeup work.

Used them for a few years but the lines made my eyes go crazy!!  Went to progressives but couldn't hack the narrow field of vision.  After playing with various options I found a progressive with a wide field of view, one of the brands are Varilux lenses, can be worn by pilots to fly with.  Great vision at all distances as well as side to side.  NOT cheap, but what a difference, I can see things I haven't been able to see clearly in years.  The coatings are warranted for life of the lenses, had these for over 10 years with no issues!  Not cheap but the excellent vision is well worth it !!

Yep, I hear ya, going thru this myself and yes it is getting worse !!  Same as walking into a room and asking myself what I am doing here.....I am getting to the point of making a tray of some sort to hold everything when I am working on something, or if a small job, make a point of putting things in my pocket!!  At least I know have a place to start looking !!

First thing is to find out what the thread is, metric or sae?
Then find something to match the thread....even if the head doesnt match, the thread must!!  You can always make the head whatever you want, slotted, square etc.  If you have the threaded part find a hardware or local machine shop, they should have thread gages to figure out what thread it is.

First thing is to check your fuses...if they are good then start chasing wires and connections.  Try your pump directly from the battery to be sure it works.  Check your battery with a digital volt meter...should read 12.6 volts or higher, 12 volt reading means your battery is almost dead.  These newer electronic systems require a battery at 12.4 volts or higher, low batteries dont work nowadays.

Lots of different mfgrs make them now, including the oddball foreign mfgrs. However that doesn't make them any less expensive

The problem is...if they are in good working order and dont need repairs, people dont want to sell them !!  My neighbor has gone as far as to make offers to people when he sees one even if not for sale!!  Hoping someday to make a sale.

aaaak! Sunday night prediction of 6" stalled over the Gulf of Maine, turned into 15-16" Fof heavy snow, snowed for 29 hours.

needless to say, more than I can push, so I got someone coming with a skid steer, 8-10 more inches predicted  for Wednesday.

Ouch....thats a lot of snow....I have a big snow blower for the drifts and deep stuff, but it can be slow going.  I have used it in drifts of two feet and more but it isnt quick !!  Some years back I had a similiar heavy snow storm and had to call in a BobCat to move the big deep stuff....sometimes we just gotta do what is needed !!
