Downtown 300 / 2013 KYMCO Downtown 300i hesitation while throttling issue
« on: October 08, 2019, 06:13:23 PM »
I have recently gotten a 2013 KYMCO Downtown 300i w/about 6,000 miles on it that has some concerning hesitation most noticeable between approximately 25-45 mph.
I can power through the hesitation and it seems to run fine.  Have any of you other Downtown 300i owners ever experienced this particular issue?  If so,
any recommendations on what to check and/or what might be a solution to restore consistent, smooth acceleration?  Thanks in advance for any help.

General Discussion / KYMCO People 250 starter issue
« on: June 08, 2019, 03:12:43 PM »
Got a KYMCO People 250 (not S 250) and the starter engaged and will not disengage.  Even after disconnecting the battery connection overnight and reconnecting it just to learn the starter is still engaging.  Any ideas what could be the problem regarding this issue?  Could it be a faulty starter relay maybe???  Thanking anyone on here in advance for possible solutions.

For someone looking for a really nice, low mileage Super 9 LC...

(SOLD) See photos below.   KYMCO enthusiast already know this, but for rest of you...the KYMCO Super 9 LC was the top-of-the-line choice in KYMCO's 50 cc scooter offering for model year 2004 and sold for $3,000 out the dealer's door, not including de-restrictio cost. This particular Super 9 was purchased new in May of 2005. It has just recently (6/5/15) been de-restricted (factory speed restrictors removed), so it hasn't been ragged-out the least little bit. In fact, it's just now getting broken-in good.  Considering it has ONLY 775 miles, it's AWESOME condition, high demand based on its PHENOMENAL reputation, it'll be sold for no less than $1,400.  Looking-up the value of this scooter?...Well, you can throw the published "book values" for this type of scooter out the window. One in excellent condition w/2,500 miles recently sold for $1,300 with ease (to "wordslinger" on here).  Here's a short video, at least so you can hear it run...

If you can appreciate what you're seeing and or hearing here and would like to purchase it, P.M. me.  Scooter is located in Asheboro, NC.

So, what say all you moped/scooter riders in N.C. regarding the likely-to-pass House Bill 1145, which will require all 50 cc and less  riders to register, title and insure these two-wheeled conveyances?  One more House concurrence vote passing and it will likely become law soon.  Any thoughts, comments on this?

Can't locate the weight capacity for a KYMCO Bet & Win 250, anybody know that on here?  If so, please post it and maybe the source also.  It might be in a service manual, if someone has one.  It's not listed in the owner manual, however.  THANKS!

People 50 / Kymco People running issue (problem solved!)
« on: January 27, 2013, 03:20:46 PM »
I have recently purchased a 2001 KYMCO People 50 w/less than 200 miles on it.  Supposedly, according to the previous owner, the carb was cleaned by a scooter shop before it was sold to me.  Here's the issue...bike cranks and runs fine, but once it gets warmed-up, just after the choke shuts down, it will idle down and tends to stall when even gently getting on the gas.  You can let it sit for only a minute and she fires back up and runs fine for a while till it does the same thing again.  I've put-in a new spark plug, new air filter, drained and filled the tank with fresh premium gas and air screw is 1 turn out, per the service manual.  Does this sound like the carb need to be cleaned again to you all?  I don't mind doing it, but just wanted to check-in with the experts first.  Any other things I might wanna check before cleaning the carb?

Bet & Win 150 / Bet & Win 150 red touch-up paint
« on: November 03, 2012, 02:38:51 AM »
If you own the metallic red version of the KYMCO Bet & Win 150 and are in need of some touch-up paint, the KYMCO part # is RR004 ("RR" stands for Ruby Red).  The metallic red on the B&W 150 and the B&W 250 are apparently the same or as far as I have been able to find out.  I only know that on the KYMCO USA website, the part # for red touch-up paint is only listed for the B&W 250 and is the aforementioned part #.  A nail polish-sized bottle was $8.13 from my local KYMCO dealer.

Hope this helps someone!
