Technical | How To / Re: Battery tender connection

Good work!
Geez, - can't believe they're still building machines like this. A battery should be easily accessible!
I've only had 4 scoters, by four different manufacturers, but each had batteries that were easily accessible behind a small panel with a screw or 3. Placing a battery tender on each was easy.
My only complaint about my Liberty is that it uses a small 6Ah battery - and the battery box is too small to install anything larger.
My Kymco came with an 8Ah battery - which I've replaced with a 14Ah Yuasa. Miles from home - on cold, dark, winter and/or rainy rides I want a sure start when time to go home!

Mongoose / Re: 2019 Mongoose 270cc Carburetor HELP
« on: May 04, 2024, 02:27:47 PM »
I have never in all my years had this much trouble locating a carburetor for this quad. It's a 270 and it sat for 3 years with bad gas in it. I need a replacement carburetor.  Where and what part numbers please?

General Discussion / Re: Kymco 200i Petrol Pump failing

Seems electrical.
I'd want to look at the 10amp fuse, the battery leads/posts, the ground cable to frame connection, etc.
Then I'd contact Hi Flo and ensure that you are using the correct pump with the correct resistance.

More info on you scooter...miles. year, LIKE200I??, or?

I just bought a '23 Kymco People S 150. Is there a good online source for OEM parts like air filter or drive belt?

Please see.

While it's in the shop, tell him to get off his butt and fix the error messages at the bottom of the screen!  It's not rocket science, maybe 10 minutes of maintenance.  But it would hugely improve the "User Experience" as they say!

My brother was bothered by a pesky check engine light. He put electrical tape over it.
Man knew how to chill on the small stuff.

Daughter, getting ready for work, looked out on the patio.
"Dad, what are doing?"
Seeing how far I can spit an ice cube.

Looking at my drink..."I'm going to tell Mom."
I mumbled at the closed door, "there goes your Xmas bonus young lady!"

Ummm, I learned not to have the margaritas first...unless you're into abstract mowing.

Never have liked beer or wine. But after a little yard mowing ....a homemade margarita goes down real easy!

Nice work Karl!

I think it was you who had me drilling a hole in my LIKE's gas cap years ago - when it was doing that imitation of a bucking bronco. (as the TPS failed)
Couldn't hurt!

Man - I learned more about taking my LIKE apart and putting it back together in those few weeks of fairly new ownership when that TPS went south!! Still have some "nothing the matter with these orig. parts" in my tool drawers as the forum recommendations rolled in! ! (fuel pump, coil, plug cap, plugs, plug wire, injector, etc.)

Then you loaned me your KYMCO diag. tool! And we got it solved.

And I thought you had a Kymco (Taiwanese)!

First thing 99% of new LIKE owners do is peel the "Made In China" sticker off the leg shield.
That 1%? They're finger-nail biters and can't get it off.

Common for some folks - rare for me!

Early this morning, an elderly lady of means, apparently, slid out of her Escalade and walked past.
Looking at my LIKE parked by the curb, she asked, "Is that yours?"
"Yes ma'am."

"It looks like fun!"
"It is!"

Later a mail man rode up on his scooter. He pops into Tom's most mornings on his way to the post Office, just down the street.
We chatted about his scooter. It's a 50 and he lives in the village - so perfectly good for intown use.

Later a passerby asked, looking it over, "Is that a Vespa?"

"Oh goodness....no! that kinda stuff can get a fellow beat up! It's Chinese!"

He was puzzled at my remark. He doesn't know Vespa owners.

Low bright sun in my face on much of my ride home...so stopped and put the painter's tape on. Works a treat - much better than my drop-down sun glass thing. That darkens everything. Including shadows. In and out of tree shadows all the way home - any one of which can be hiding a deer standing in the road. Ask me how I know!

It ain't elegant. But look at the rider!
