30,000 miles, wow.
I just put 10w30 full synthetic in engine and new gear oil. Waiting on new air filter, iridium plug and front brake pads.

I am in the Caribbean so everything takes a lot longer to happen.
I saw gy6 header on ebay I will take my chances and get one. Let's hope it fits without too much cutting and bending

Sounds like a fuel problem. Let's know the outcome after doing the simple things that the others have suggested.
If all else fails then get a can of carb spray. Remove the diaphragm cover and the choke. Ensure that the diaphragm does not have any holes
Use about 1/4 can in the carb throttle body and choke opening. Let the bike sits for a few minutes before reassemble.
Twist the throttle full and swing engine a few times. Turn in the idle screw 2 full turn clockwise then start the engine and let it warm up.
Return idle screw to its original position
Good luck

I have a supertrapp exhaust laying around the shop. I am considering ordering a GY6 down pipe and with some minor mods, install on my bike.
Thoughts or suggestions are welcome

These are the reasons for manufacturers turning to fuel injection.
This weekend I am going to remove the auto choke and install a blank plate in its place. Will post the results

The problem lies with the auto choke there are some posts on this subject

I just got my 2013 super 8 150 with 4K miles. I am having major problems with the auto choke. If I remove the choke from the carb and place my thumb over the hole ,  the engine runs great. The moment the auto choke goes back in place the engine would not accelerate.
I am looking for a manual choke kit

I have used this method over the years on bikes and cars and it worked for me .
Attach an air tight clear hose to the bleeding nipple and place in a clean container with the hose submerg in fluid  or in a fresh can of brake fluid.
Cracked the nipple sufficiently to allow fluid to pass through the clear hose . Pump the brake lever until all air bubbles dissappear in the hose. Tighten the nipple.
Don't forget to top up the resorvior

Thanks Wayne
I have some hills to climb so what I am seeing from others, it seems as though 11 might be better than the 13 for me
