Side By Side / 2012 Kymco UXV 500 General Troubleshooting
« Last post by DWELDR on Today at 02:11:48 AM »
Good evening, my first issue was gasoline dripping out of the bottom of the carb drain. Backed off of the screw, cleaned it up put it back together, and no fix. Found out that one of the springs in the throttle assembly was just caked with years of dust. Cleaned it, and it stopped dripping.

Still, no start.
Cleaned the carb up, put it back together, and nothing.
Sprayed starter fluid into air intake, and it didn’t even notice it.
Changed spark plug,nope.
Oil is full.
Battery is charged.

Through out all this, it never acted any different with the little bit of work I’ve done with troubleshooting. It just keeps turning over and not firing.

A few months ago, I replaced the rectifier, I think that’s the name, and a battery.
Had to replace the battery again two weeks ago again, even after keeping it running or on a tender.

This is my first side by side and I didn’t know better, so I’m stuck constantly tinkering with it so the kids and wife can take ride in the evenings. The wife isn’t sold on getting another one since this one has been broken down so much in the 2 years we’ve had it. I know, it’s a long story, please help. Fix it or trash it?

Kymco News / Re: Contacting Kymco USA
« Last post by mrmike on June 02, 2024, 09:38:07 PM »
Thank you for your reply. I bought a new 2022 Kymco People S 150i abs and did not have the Hand Guards. I made the dealer aware and they said they were going to e-mail Kymco USA to get the handguards. I checked with them and they said that Kymco is not responding to ther e-mails? Its been now a few months since I made the purchase and no Hand Guards. I don't know if Kymco is not responding or the dealer rep is giving me the run around. In any case I have tried from that link on their website to contact them and so far no response. Any recommendation? Thank you!!

The only way to go. I have a Garmin I mount on Moto Discovery GPS bar. Most of my rides are on back
country roads, riding about 30mph, with little or no traffic. I just ride wherever I feel like, then just hit home
  on the GPS to return.

True Ruffus, but as someone else said, better lose a 75 quid satnav off your bike than a 500 pound iPhone!

BTW it uses Google Maps architecture.

Cool piece, but a little bit steep on price.
Google Maps wouldn't be an option to use your phone on a holder?

pix from ride out through town this morning for coffee - in and out of showers.

The building behind the scooter is where we signed for our house 28 yrs ago!
(yeah - no that clock isn't even close to correct)

town kinda reminds me of the Army - if it stops moving, paint it.

in and out of showers

smooth little scooter!
