GT 1000 mile review
« on: June 02, 2013, 04:13:50 PM »
In the past I had ask other GT owners their opinion of this bike.
Guess I should do the same.

I bought a new 2013 GT a couple of months ago and now have over 1000 miles on it. I had my service done at 600+ miles.

I have owned a few motor cycles over the years. Transitioning to a scooter gave me pause but, I have discovered that I like scooters a lot.
Big wheel, 300-350 class scooters made it easier. (My sport bike is up for sale).

First, the cons.
1 clock set at military time - no big deal but annoying.
2 brake reservoirs covered by plastic - caps should be exposed for ease of maintenance.
3 seat could be a little more comfy - no big deal but needs improvement.

pros
Almost everything
I love this scoot and am very happy with it.
acceleration +
torque +
handling +
top box +
step through floor board +
fun factor +
quiet +
smooth ride +
lrg. dia. tires +
good braking +
good power to weight ratio + very important

Update: MPG after five tank fills = 65

I agree with Boo 100%. I had a Harley FXSTD for 13 years before I bought a scooter. I wanted something with less weight and no clutch. My GTI fills the bill completely. I only have 550 miles on her, but am very pleased.
