Has anyone done seat mods or had a custom seat made to their 700i yet? The seat is too far forward and sloped for me to be comfortable riding anything but short distance. I messaged Corbin but haven't heard back yet.

I had a local motorcycle seat builder to redo my front section of the seat. I had him take out the slope. Now it rides much better as I don't have to correct my seating position often.
Thanks. Did he move the butt stop back also at all for a more stretched out riding position?

No it did not move the butt stop back. I don't believe that would be possible because of the shape of the seat pan.
I did look at that though it looks as though some of the foam could be removed to gain some space. I really need to bug Corbin cause the seat is what's really holding this bike back from being ridden more. Thanks.

I guess I thought Corbins were built on the existing seat pan. They make a new pan?
If they don't - surely a motorcycle bike seat builder could make a very good seat for less.

All Corbin's are on a custom pan they make. If the placement issue is because of the stock pan then one would have to be made to make it right. I love the Corbin look and back rest style. I'm sure someone could do something but the seat pan on this thing feels paper than compared to the Burgman seat.
Here's a photo of the one they do for the Kymco Xciting 500 R.

I couldn't go back on my LIKE200I seat....so I went UP and then back with the rebuild. At 6'3" seat hight was not an issue for me.
After the seat rebuild the ride was so much better that I stopped looking for better rear shocks!

Got on my Burg 650 this morning to ride in and thought whoa legroom after being on the My Road for nearly a week. What a difference in riding position between the two. Hopefully I can remedy that soon when the money presents itself, lol.

Just received a e-mail back from Corbin. It looks like there isn't enough interest in making a seat for the MyRoad. So either I have to see if the existing seat can be modified to my satisfaction or have a custom seat made for it. Corbin does offer a custom service. I guess I need to start saving up my pennies.

does the 700 have a dome under the pile-on part of the seat, if so it is the same as the downtown , I cut the dome off flat and raised the front of the seat 4 inches, and cut the but-stop back 5 inches,. now I ride all day in comfort,. 250 KM. today felt like doing it again after supper, but got the look from the wife, after 40 years she wants me near , I don't under stand it,.

I guess I'd have to see a photo of what your talking about. It seems there's a fair amount of foam the shave away or into a slightly different shape but I'm not sure just how much I can go back before I hit the plastic butt pocket in the seat pan. If I had a spare seat I wouldn't mind taking the cover/foam off to see but it's my only seat right now. I am curious if Corbin's custom seat service would actually make a new fiberglass seat pan for proper fit.

Hang in there until somebody dumps one and parts it on eBay! Maybe just a push-over and drag by a soccer Mom while owner is in Tim Horton's. Nobody hurt!
I wasn't comfortable chopping into my new scooter's seat either - then found perfect one on eBay for $35.
Original is pristine & in the closet.

Got an answer from Corbin, yes they will make a custom seat pan however I want it hence the word custom, lol.

That would be ideal to experiment on.

Google Russell day long seats. Pricey, but worth every cent. I have had 3 of them. Perfect, I would not waist my money on any other seat! Sorry, but corbin touring seats absolutely suck. They are made to look cool, not for comfort on long trips. I and other people have bought bikes with corbin touring seats. Every person with out exception has had to go back to the stock seat, or get another seat. I and they were in agony with in a few miles. Horrible, just horrible! >:( :'( :-*
