Title: 2011 150 people, dang starter will not disengage ...
Post by: roguewave on January 28, 2014, 07:53:41 PM
Anyone had any experience with this? Had to run around and unhook the battery before something went bad.  Key on or off it does not matter, as soon as I hook battery back up its spinning over. If I turn the key on it will start but starter is still cranking...damn. Only 500 miles on the thing.

Your starter relay may be stuck...

Definitely sounds like a stuck starter relay. Replace or destroy the starter clutch ring etc.  :(

Was your battery low? Many bikes will weld the solenoid when the battery is low...

Had the same issue. Knocked on the relay and replaced the battery and it started right up
