Grandvista 250 / I just have a trip from Seattle, WA to Perris, CA
« on: June 29, 2011, 12:56:12 AM »
A trip from May 29th, 2011. My GV250cc was new only 300 miles on it. I put 20w50 oil and check everything before I go. What a trip! I rode along Hwy 99 then 507, to Hwy 101 (oregon) mostly rain and cold, passed golden gate ($6.00 for a pass) then Hwy 1 (CA) to reach Big Sur but I had to reroute because of rocks fell down the road. I took Cammel valley and back road to Hwy 198, then 33 (chevron oil facilities, smell bad) to santa barbara, followed hwy 1, throug Los Angeles city roads to Perris. It took me 3 nights and 4 days to reach the destination, 1500 miles total. I rode average 40-45 mph average, but usually 50-55 mph except pass through town 35 or 25 mph. It's fun but you need to plan ahead. I don't plan ahead so I got frustrated sometimes to find a motel (cheap price) closed to San Francisco ($160 a night) but I got GPS to find a motel 6 ($76 a night but I negotiated for $46 when I came around midnight)...Overall it's worth the adventure! If I have a chance, I would ride again. ;D

Now I left scooter for my girlfriend in Moreno Valley (closed to Perris,CA) it's 2000 miles already. I changed motorcycle oil 20w50 (Valvoline brand, bought in walmart) hot weather so that oil would be ok. I also change gear oil. plan to change spark plug and air filter but don't have a chance. I took a plane back to Seattle on June, 15. Well, feel good. Now I have to go to find a job for a new chapter but still looking. ::)

Grandvista 250 / GPS mount for GV250
« on: May 18, 2011, 06:23:19 AM »
I just finished mounting a gps on GV250. You just buy a mount from  www.gpscity.com (cheaper and fast shipping) via www.ram-mount.com (more expensive). My specific GPS is Garmin nuvi 1450LMT or just 1450 model. Here is the links to customize my mount for reference.

Total I spend around $70 for the system mount on GV250.

Hello, Anybody know where to get the necessary tools for servicing Kymco Grandvista 250cc. I found a service manual for Grand Dink 250 with different maintenance schedule! Example of the first valve clearance of grandvista is about 186 miles (300 km) but grand dink is 1250 miles (2000 km)!

My Kymco Grandvista 250 is about 180 miles. Should I continue to ride it until 1000 miles and do valve clearance? Is it important to do it? Please give me some advice on those topics of tools and valve clearance matter. Thanks. ???

I asked for grandvista valve clearance at Renton motorcycles, WA. They quoted $300.00.
