[SOLVED] S8 L/R Rear Turn Signals
« on: March 29, 2014, 08:07:37 PM »
Noticed my turn signals were a little crooked today so I straightened them out and noticed . . . WOW look at that wiring for the signals that are exposed to all the mud and road grime. Are you guys wrapping these up with electrical tape? Is this how it is supposed to look? Is this a non issue that I shouldn't be worried about?

Do you have all these parts under there?
From the parts window for the super 8.......
Does seem like something is missing - or the wires are un-bundled. (Please do not report me to AT&T U-Verse for using that word!)

Wayne, Nice job on all your scooter videos!
Well done. I wonder if those stalk turn signals that we all have to live with here in the States come with the crated scooter to the USA dealers - and your wiring job was an example of their work - rather than Kymco's?
For all the folks who own a LIKE200i - no one seemed to want to do a CVT servicing video. I waited mos. for one to appear - to instruct me...then said the heck with it, went in to do an airfilter change after 1 year and just kept going!
Would have liked to shoot a video of it - or even take photos - but camera was out of town.
Videos are much better for instructing us newbies!
Thanks again for your scoot videos, I'm sure people will use them to do their own simple servicing.

Nice solution wkreps! That's gonna be 1 of my first projects on mine.

Everyone here in the states should check their state regulations on the turn signal spacing, because I think it's a state by state thing. I think they put the blinker stalks on all the US versions just to make certain states happy. I've seen other scooters with the turn signals mounted in the bodywork without the pods.

Interesting side note: I just looked in my  motorcycle operator's handbook for here in Illinois, and turn signals are not even listed as required equipment to legally operate on public roads. So, I may just relocate mine into the spots they were designed to be in the first place. My brother-in-law is a cop, so I'll check with him first!  :)
