Front Brake Pads for the Downtown200.
« on: January 25, 2014, 03:48:55 PM »
Hi,
I find the OE pads on the Downtown lacking bite. Power wise I guess I about prepared to play around with the master cylinder.

I am looking into the Goldfren brand of pads.

The AD is is supposed of be the best replacement for OE pads, but I worry it will still lack the bite I am after, hence the S3.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Ordered the Goldfren AD pads.

Will post up a short review when I get them installed.

Hi all,

Goldfren AD front brake pads installed. Still disappointed with the performance results.

Initial bite is still the same as the OE pads, which is way below my expectation. The only improvement is the AD pads do not fade out as much as the OE pads.

I ride to work Mon-Fri, on the way there are two roundabouts which i brake for, the 1st from 120km/h and the 2nd from 100km/h, about 100m apart from each other.  Now with the AD's, i do not have to pull in the brake lever as hard and as much as before, but that's as far as the performance increase goes.

Will be doing a brake fluid change soon, hope that will help further.

Good one, but there is a difference between bite, power & fade.

The AD pads sort of solved the fade issue, but not the bite and power.
