Aftermarket exhaust for Like?
« on: April 15, 2013, 01:07:55 AM »
I've looked around but have not found an exhaust for my Like.  Does anyone know if there is one made?

My goal is to lessen the backpressure in the exhaust, possibly giving a bit more power if I can find a shop to plug in to the computer and add some fuel, but also to make the scooter louder so it's easier for people to "see" me.  I took my motorcycle riding test today and saw that the Honda Rebel 250 has dual exhaust (125cc per pipe) and the pipes on it are bigger than what is on the Like even though the Like has a bigger engine.  I'm sure the smaller exhaust is to provide better mid range power, but I'd be willing to sacrifice a bit of mid range power for more top end since that's where the motor will be running at most times.

If one is not made, does anyone know where I can find a stock exhaust so I could modify it?

I'm curious about this too. I have seen a couple on ebay but they seem expensive:

I'm sure they're probably good but 3 bills plus shipping on a pipe seems steep. I'm wondering if anyone else has done this mod.

$300 for a complete system is totally average, anything much cheaper is likely to have suspect up a little. Aftermarket exhaust aren't cheap!!

I agree because I have not seen any for let say $150 or so. I guess to get you scooter to sound louder ( and I believed safer) you have to part with the green :'(

I'm primarily interested in increased output, not so much noise. You could never put a pipe on the Like that makes enough noise to make a difference. I'm guessing though. Seems the engine is too small.

Ha! I was thinking I was going to link for a pipe and it turns out to be a horn! Is it the primary horn? Where does it sit?

Honestly it's just zip tied underneath, I'm planning on relocating it somewhere else because I think I knicked it (no harm done) when I went over a few speed bumps...
