Yager/Dink 200i inner mudguard
« on: October 28, 2021, 10:17:26 AM »
Dear KYMCO addicts,
upon serious research found out that, usually on our Yagers a inner mudguard between rear shocks is located at.
But on mine its missing. (pls see pic)
Other forums, particular in countries with saltet roads during winters time, are seeing a severe detoriation/destruction of their fuses/resp. those cables leading to and fro.
Remedy for this evil should be the mounting of mentioned inner mudguard and lathering the whole fuse box and cables with water resistant grease.
The only obstacle is, this part is not listed in any part catalogue I looked into.
Found two part numbers for this mudguard but can't confirm.
MA2967
80100 LEA5 E000
Appreciate any hint.
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

Ruffus, when I put a car tire on my Downtown 300i the "huggy" fender/mudgard would no longer fit over the squarish tire so a flap was rigged on the bottom of the underseat tub. This kept the road debris off the engine forward of the rear tire. You may want to consider that scheme for the lack of a inner fender on your Yager/Dink.

@hawk, txs again, checked EU pages, don't list them here. Called my local 😊, yes he knows this part but he is not very confident to get it ....and strange enough, he wants money for!? 🤔

@CROSSBOLT, txs, I do have this mudflap on my met-in box, located hanging down from, to shield from street gunk. I will invent something, for I found a mudguard from a LIKE 125 in my storage, which I most probably will adapt.

Yeah, it's crazy that some scooters come without this simple piece of protection.
I had to do something similar to Crossbolt's flap on my Burgman 400. It was a new scooter and it was collecting all kinds of junk on the rear and top of the motor&bits. The dirt was also ending up in my airfilter which was clear up forward.

We installed a tire hugger on my son's CB500X....and the one on my Liberty is in fact a ROYAL Pain when it comes time to remove the rear wheel....still wouldn't want to be without it!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

..I'm not cheap, I'm frugal😊....
But seriousely, my dealer could not confirm whether he would get such a mudguard or not.
Pics show status prior, not acceptable to have such an open space above the tire to be hailed by stone and dirt.

So I raked not only my brain, but my storage too AND, a similar mudguard was waiting there to be put into service again.
Didn't mind being from an LIKE 125, so had to go a litte bit through "transformation" by heatgun, finally it got the required shape and was put in place to do its duty and guard against mud.
Size and shape were not according to my YAGERs requirement, finally adding a piece of square alu profile did the trick.
Also a dimple had to be made to allow a bit of distance to its neighbor, the met-in box.
