Technical | How To / Clutch replacement tools

Just a FYI for any Venox 250 riders out there that do their own work. I’m in the process of replacing my clutch and had to have the two special tools made for me. Luckily my friend is a machinist and he ginned them up in about 15 minutes. He made 5 sets as it’s just as easy to make 5 as 1 when you have the mill set up. My question is, is there a market for these special tools?

Thanks Ron,

Finally got it off and yeah its a snakes nest of wires in there.  I've got to find the wiring for the headlamp since now the headlight doesn't even come on.  Should be fun!!

Ok so the clutch is old and I’m missing the washer from below the nut holding the clutch basket on. Good thing my friend is a machinist because he made locknut socket wrench and the clutch lifter tool for me. Kymco doesn’t sell them and it took him about 15 minutes to recreate something close but better. If anyone’s interested post up and he can make more

I was actually hoping someone else had replaced their clutch before and know which fiber plates to order.  The manual is a little vague.  I work on all my bikes so its an easy task, just wish the manual was like Suzukis or Yamahas manuals.

Yep, same here. Just went out and started it up and the oil lamp went out. Now to replace the clutch

Figured this out. Turns out the “new clutch” is slipping. Guess it’s time for a new clutch

So who has replaced their clutch?  I went on the kymco parts monster site but they don’t have a clutch kit. What exactly should I order?

Venox 250 / Oil light stays on

Ok here is a weird one. I washed the bike and now the oil light stays on. I’ve checked all the connections and they seem dry however, I can’t figure this one out. The oil level drops in the sight window when I start it so I know the pump is working (somewhat)

Venox 250 / Headlight bulb removal
« on: September 30, 2017, 05:49:39 PM »
Ok guys, another question.  The manual isn’t real clear on how to get the bulb out on a 2004.  I’ve removed the Phillips screw at the 5 o’clock position (leaving the adjusting screw in the front left in) and removed both mounting bolts for the shell and still can’t get in to replace the bulb. Any ideas?

Venox 250 / Engine rpms going uphill
« on: September 30, 2017, 02:50:31 AM »
I just picked up an 04 Venox 250 tonight. Was riding it around our housing development and when going uphill at low rpm in 2nd gear it sounded almost like the clutch was slipping. That said, it doesn’t do it when I give it gas going uphill. I know my older Suzuki GSXR’s would “skip” in 2nd and 3rd gear but it was a transmission problem with them.  Any idea Since?
