Side By Side / Re: Disconnect startup buzzer on UXV 450i LE

What airshot posted makes good sense i have told anyone on my machine to turn key on and wait until fuel pump cycle turn off before starting, this will only matter on cold starts.
I would think that you could find the buzzer pick the ground side of the lead and put a switch on it if it really bothers you. I don't have a buzzer on mine so I can't tell you where it is

Side By Side / Re: Slipped out of gear after going through a puddle??
« on: August 09, 2017, 04:15:13 PM »
The shifter linkage on these machine are the weak point. The shift fork is a spring loaded fork to hold it in gear after it is properly in the correct gear. If it is not all the way in gear it can pop out, so the spring can also work against us. Going thru the puddle had no bearing on your issue, just was not fully into gear when you started out in all probability. I have had this same issue and spoke with the factory service tech who explained all this stuff to me. What I have learned to do as well as many others, is to put it into gear, then slightly tap the gas peddle while wiggling the shifter to be sure it goes fully into gear and the shift fork engages properly. With a little practice it becomes second nature when ever you shift. The long linkage in these has enough play that sometimes it is not fully into the proper shift position, even though you think it is. As far as adjusting your linkage, you need to remove the "C" clip where it attaches to the link on the engine (transmission) and pull the shift linkage off and then the shifter on the transmission can be shifted manually by the arm. The shift lights on your dash are controlled inside the transmission so you will easily see which gear you are into. Move into reverse and adjust the linkage trunion until the hole lines up to the arm pin, then move into low and recheck the hole in linkage to the pin on shift arm. In most cases some happy medium will be needed to get the best alignment from rev to low position, any minor error here is taken up by the spring loaded shift fork inside the transmission. Lock the nut on the trunion, slip the linkage back onto shift arm and replace the C clip. You may want to get a couple spare C clips as these little boogers have a tendency to disappear when you replace them.
Then remember to wiggle your shifter while giving it just a tiny bit of gas to be sure it falls all the way into gear!!  Glad your machine performed well for your ride.

Very good explanation airshot thanks

hopefully it's just an adjustment on the linkage, possibly not quite locked in all the way???

When I researched my machine it was early 2015 and the advertising pamphlet I have says 10" ground clearance for both the 450 and the 700 and yes the LE models added an extra 2" due to larger tire/wheel combo. Must have updated the ground clearance since then.

OK I'm still learning and wondered if I was missing something, I did notice the manufactures web specs are listed incorrectly on the LE

This video from kymco at Moab is kinda fun but you can see how many times they slam the bottom on the rocks

This video is the race between the 500 and 700 but I was laughing because it's the guys I am buying from driving each machine

From the advertised specs I don't see where the 700 has any more ground clearance??

Airshot I'm not sure if I am missing something in your statement but the 450 has 10" the 700 has 12.2 and the 700 LE has 13.2 because of the up grade tire size these are all starting points. 3 1/4" different is alot

Went and saw things first hand today, I was very impressed but there is no way the 450 works for me. The guys there are great we talked a lot about how they set up for Moab rides and my type of riding is similar. They move the shocks out and remove the rear sway-bar but still not enough,,,

I'm not knocking the 450i it would be my preference but that one thing.

So we spent some time in the 700i really liked it, they have a 2016 LE with a scratch on the hood for a great price I,m having it priced out with a extended roll cage and back seat and custom roof, tip out windshield.

Really hope things work out

The above article should be interesting to this group now that Textron is Arctic Cat, Kymco may suffer as Textron has it's own motor division, I wonder  if they will make the switch.

When I bought mine in jan 2016 the roof was part of the LE package, not sure what has changed since then. I do have the factory roof and have received many compliments on it. My only complaint is how tall the roof is, I am fairly short at 5'6" so a much shorter roof line and I could have avoided a 7' tall enclosed trailer.
airshot I saw pics of your trailer in a post very nice looking trailer. The roof is confusing Cfmoto did the same thing with the Uforce factory roof not standard on 2017 models
